I recommend this hotel. On Metro line that makes the sites convenient. Great breakfast. Checkin person had an attitude but perhaps this comes with being in Rome. Only negative thing--no wifi. I would stay here again.”
Despite the negative reviews regarding location, the Hotel is conveniently next to a Light Rail stop, a bus stop, a grocery store, dining, and many bar options. This is a great spot to remove yourself from the tourist district, experience the 'real' Rome, meet the locals, and stay in luxury for a good price. You may arrive via Taxi; I paid 15 euro. For public transit, you’re looking for the ‘Ponte Casilino’ stop. Bus 81 will get there and also hits tourist locations along the route to/from Termini, although it is usually packed and not ideal with luggage. The very convenient Roma-Giardinetti Light Rail line directly connects Termini to the Ponte Casilino stop outside the Hotel in 5-10 mins. The Light Rail stop at Termini is hidden, be sure to search Roma Laziali in Google Maps prior to trying to find it. You must walk SE about 300-yds along platform 24 (Leonardo Express), find the 'hidden' 25+ platforms, go downstairs and exit the station. There is a grocer on the left, prior to station exit. Exit, turn left, and behold: the Roma-Giardinetti Line. Don't forget to get your ticket at a news stand or tobacco store (standard bus/metro ticket), and be sure to grab some groceries to stock the hotel minibar fridge.”
With Spanish Steps on left hand side of the building, the small cosy hotel is very convenience to travelers. Only 5 mins walk to Spagna metro station, with splendid tearooms nextdoor or next to spanish steps, also nice restaurants one block behind, as well as carrefour express just a couple blocks behind. The breakfast is great, nice view from roof restaurant. Strong hot water shower, warm room if visit during cold weather. Only it doesn't provide slippers or free wifi, other than that, everything is great.”
This hotel was a nice respite before leavingRome early in the morning. We enjoyed the bar and excellent menu in the restaurant. The beds were the best we had during our 2 week stay in Italy and we enjoyed the large flat screen TV and movies in english! We arrived on the train from Florence and took the free Hilton shuttle bus. The bus was very hard to find from the website information flyer. Better directions with a small map would be helpful as there are many buses in this area. The Hilton bus stop is actually on the Via del Teatro Marcello which is near the Plazza Venezia where all the other public buses are located. Fortunantely we were able to call the Hilton who directed us to the appropriate location or we would have not found in the dark!”
Hotel meets it's american standard as far as quality, cleanliness, and service. It will cost 20 to get a ride to or from the airport via taxi, or the hotel offers a shuttle service for 6 euro. It is situated fairly close to the airport and close enough to town for a stroll to go get some food. Would stay here again.”
The staff are accomedating and pleasant. The main problem is internet connection. There is none!!!! If you want internet you are asked to pay 5 euro per hour!!!! The dinner we ordered was terrible and mostly non edible. The staff apolagized to no end and we were not charged for the meal. the location is very good and in a very quiet area. We took a bus to Rome that only cost 2 eiro p.p. one way. The staff gave very good directions. I am very pleased with efficiancy of the staff.”
We had the pleasure to spend one of our best ever New Year's Eve in Nettuno, staying at this excellent hotel. The location is the best on this coast, the hotel is exquisite, clean, and the personnel super-friendly. The amazing view from the balcony offered us the privilege of admiring the first sunrise of 2012. Nettuno itself is a very nice resort city with much to offer. If you are traveling along the coast or searching the perfect vacation spot in this area, we really suggest you consider this hotel.”
the San Giorgio was beyond our expectations, in a fantastic location to the downtown and to the port. the entire hotel staff was friendly and extremely helpful. and the Ristorante Piccadilly located in the hotel was superb, with a fixed price menu ( and not overpriced ) which allowed for several selections. And the house wines were very good and priced well. Our entire experience was extremely pleasant and relaxing.”
We stayed in the Hotel before boarding our cruise. We arranged with the Hotel for transfers from Rome Airport which was fantastic and very reasonable. On arriving at the hotel at 9.30pm we were told that the restaurant was still open and we could go to our room and settle in and then come down to eat. We had a lovely meal at the hotel and then had drinks out on the terrace. A lovely way to start our holiday. The Hotel offers a continental breakfast as part of the package, this breakfast well exceeded our expectations as it included hot & cold food. It was beautiful. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the Port and we were brought to the port at a time that suited us which was great. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.”
we stayed here prior to a cruise and it was certainly "fit the bill". The front desk lady was very helpful and knowledgable. They have a shuttle to the ship which is a BIG PLUS! The room was OK. I would not want to stay more than 1 night. Breakfast was also OK but since i was going to cruise for 10 days i didnt need anything more. If i needed to stay near the port I would choose this property again”
