What a beautiful place to relax. The location above Taormina town was perfect, stunning views over the bay an Mount Etna. We walked down (and up) 600 steps to town during the day but used the hotel's free shuttle in the evening. Our room was quite small but clean, comfortable and had a small terrace which overlooked the bay. Breakfasts were fantastic - lots of fruit, yougurt, ham, cheese, bread and pastries to die for! We also had a couple of evening meals there too, the menu was more or less limited to pasta plus 3 or 4 fish dishes all beautifully cooked, but, if you wanted something a little bit differen,t give them an idea in the morning and they will cook whatever you want for your meal in the evening. What really makes this hotel special though are the staff. nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Realy friendly, happy, always seemed pleased to see you. A really lovely place to stay.”
The main building is under major renovation during the winter season. Stayed at recently refurbished apartment rooms, which are several steps away from the hotel wing. We never used the main wing (under construction work), nor did we have breakfast in the main wing (initially thought). Bread and milk were delivered at the door step every morning. The room was very modern and high quality. The view from the balcony is stunning with Mt Etna in the distance. The hotel staff were very attentive and kind. Major sites are walkable from the apartment.”
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Hotel was spotless, breakfast was fabulous and the view from the bedroom was spectacular. The hotel is only a short walk from the cable car which takes you up to the town, which is lovely also, but I prefered to stay down by the beach as it was much quieter and more relaxing (in October anyway!)”
This hotel is very well situated in Via Roma only a short walk from the central station, very convenient for the train or shuttle bus from the airport. Reception desk on the 5th floor was always manned by friendly, helpful, multilingual staff. There was a useful desktop PC with a printer for guests to use. Our double room at the front of the building was quiet with the windows closed and the air-con worked well. It was a basic room but very clean. Perfectly adequate buffet-style breakfast was on the rooftop terrace with really impressive views of the city and the port. A very convenient and comfortable base for exploring Palermo.”
This is a great Hotel very conveniently located. Very friendly staff. Would recommend if staying in city for a break. Very good restaurants close by. Room very comfortable and breakfast buffet excellent.”
Modern hotel very conveniently located in town centre. Airport bus stop at Politeama Square is only a few minutes walk from the hotel – much more convenient than the bus terminal next to the Stazione Centrale. The hotel is comfortable and is used by tours. The Reception staff are welcoming, helpful and speak English. The buffet breakfast is perfectly adequate with juices, rolls, toast-making machine, croissants, cheese, cold meat, jams etc but there are no hot items. Espressos and cappuccini are ordered. The breakfast room can be noisy at times.”
We stayed at this hotel in the beginning of February, i.e low season, despite the St Agata festival, so very few guests. The hotel personnel was very friendly and helpful and we got all the service we wanted. They all spoke English rather well. The breakfast buffet was very good with nice and efficient personnel. The restaurant at the top looked very good and was OK but rather expensive for the food served. The room was nicely furnished, the bathroom elegant, more generous in size compared to the room. The bed was much too hard. The room faced the yard so it was very quite. We enjoyed the stay and would consider it again if we need an hotel in Catania.”
Very nice rooms with name for each. We were in the equilibria room. Very nice. Good size for 2 people. Nice bathroom. Parking is 13 euros per day afew meters from the hotel). I did park on the street though. Beautiful patio off the lobby. Wifi in the lobby but not in rooms (only wired access which is not useful for IPad). Personnel is very friendly. Approx. 5 minutes from Via Etna, the major throughfare. Excellent value,”
Il Principe is in a very central location and we had a very good stay. I did however use the free internet on the pc in the corridor on 1st floor to pay for something online and I think my visa card was scammed - not the hotel's fault and I should have known better than put such info on an open network but galling still!”
A wonderful hotel located 20 minutes outside Syracuse (Siracusa) in agricultural area. Hotel is styled in manner of a Sicilian walled farm, surrounded by olive and fruit tree groves. Great pool complex, comfortably sized rooms and all amenities. Our only regret is that we only planned to stay one night. Very good restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff. Can't say enough about this hotel. And the city of Syracuse was a pleasant surprise as well, particularly Ortygia area.”
Hotel Principe is located 8.5 km from Syracuse in a very quiet rural area (sat nav is highly recommended for finding the hotel....road signs etc are not good.) The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with swimming pool, gardens etc and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of a busy life. Staff are courteous and attentive. Breakfast in the glass walled dining room is very good quality and offers lots of choice. Dinner is also offered but we didn't avail of it. The basic double room is small but adequate provided you don't need to spend a lot of time there. Bathroom is functional with a shower but no bath tub. Wifi is not available throughout the hotel and we could only access it in the lobby and restaurant. Parking is free. Sleep quality is good as there is no traffic noise ad the only disturbance to sleep is the cock crowing and the birds twittering in the early morning. Our window had a small balcony with shutters...it was good to be able to open them for air. All in all... a good stay (in April) but you do need a car to travel around the area. Not sure if free shuttle to beach and Syracuse was operating in April.”
3 meals included in the price. A true beach resort with excellent meal. Not the greatest room, but great fro the price and food”
