I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of April 2012. It has a perfect location. Besides, room was big and good, service and quality was also fine. Everything about hotel and service was very good except the pillows. There should be more pillow available (maybe there were but we didn't ask) to use because existing ones are very weak. I strongly recommend this hotel for travelers to Madrid, especially if you are there for 3-4 days and you want be close to everything in the city. Location is perfect, Porte de Sol on left side and Gran via on the right, and crossing street, El Corte Ingles, Fnac etc next to hotel, as well very good shopping and tourist gathering areas.”
Lovely hotel. High standard rooms, toiletries, bathroom. Reasonable prices for fridge and food in room. breakfast reasonable price@€9.very well located & close to metro. Only negatives Walls a bit thin and most(not all) staff could be a lit friendlier with very little effort! Would definitely stay again if in Madrid and would recommend.”
Very happy with hotel. Arrived at 11.30am and were checked in to 2 out of 3 rooms within 10 mins. 3rd room available after 1/2 hour. This is our third year to take a city break and the first time we got availability to rooms prior to 3.00 pm. Reception staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious, clean and very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and big. Check out very professional with a room to leave luggage. Only issue I had was with breakfast. The hot plate was limited and not very warm. Cold plate, juices, & cereals good. Toaster a disaster!! Very convenient to the old town and tourist bus tours. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.”
Although the rooms are comfortable there is something lacking in the communal areas. The minuscule bar area, right in the entrance lobby, seems to actively discourage guests to hang around in the hotel and socialise yet the immediate neighbourhood offers very little in compensation; even the chic "Silk" closed at 10pm. Good luck, at that point, finding a decent restaurant - your only option will be to return to the hotel to find that even that closes at 11pm. Overall impressions are that this is a hotel at which you're better off working in your room (with the free wifi) and grabbing some room service before retiring early... unless you've got transport and are willing to venture closer to the city for your entertainment.”
A good Hotel in a great position. All important features, bed, showers, etc. perfect and a rate that pleases. Certainly to be recommended to both the businesss traveler and tourist. I shall stay again.”
Staff was nice. The room was clean and very basic. The bed was very comfy. The restaurant was closed but there where many places close to eat. I ate at Tony Romas because the menu was in English and it was good. The hotel staff spoke English and were friendly. I had a layover it was a 32 Euro ride each way. The wifi was only in lobby area and would be nice to have in room.”
airport transport was prompt and courtesy of the hotel. took approx 10 mins. the hotel was clean, tidy and good for airport. reasonable food prices, free wi-fi. rooms clean, large, good selection of tv in numerous languages. if you are wanting a cheap convenient for airport, stay here if you want hotel for madrid i would def. not recommend.”
The hotel was wonderful and close to the airport (about 15 min drive) which was a plus as we were leaving Madrid in the morning. Located right in the main plaza, there were places to eat within walking distance. We decided to stay right in the bar/cafe area as we arrived later than planned. Room was gorgeous and well-equipped.....beds were comfortable so we slept well. Only negative was the parking garage. I understand that most places charge for the overnight parking, but this garage was a nightmare (for those of us from the USA who are used to much larger garages). You came straight down and made a sharp turn into the smallest spaces ever seen! It took quite a bit of maneuvering to get the car in the spot. Coming out of the garage was a bit scary as well but we managed without a hitch. I think I would rather have paid a few Euros more to park in the Public Parking area that was right in front of the hotel”
The Hotel is a bit further from the central part of Madrid than I had expected. From "touring," it is a half-hour on the Metro to reach it, and then a five minute walk from the Metro. However the service was excellent, the staff cordial, and I experienced no problems during my stay. The mini-bar, although not used by me, provided a refrigerator, which was used by me and appreciated.”
