Stayed here recently (Aug 2011) as a stop over on a long trip from Santander to Caldas da Rainha Portugal. Whilst we have no complaints about the Hotel it was extremely difficult to locate. The map provided from the website was woefully inadequate and we spent a long time driving around a one way system trying to locate it. The Hotel and service was, however, excellent.”
for the price it's an excellent 4 star hotel, very clean, comfortable, helpful staff, very central for walking around town”
This hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the main plaza. The room was very small and a really strange shape, but I had read in another review that it might be the case so was fairly prepared. The room looked out over the plaza which was great. We only stayed one night but could have stayed longer - Segovia is a gorgeous town and was one of our favorite places that we visited in Spain. I would recommend this hotel and Segovia in general.”
What this hotel may lack in character it makes up for in myriad other ways. This hotel is located right next to the aqueduct, and a short walk from the other sights of Segovia. Restaurants are also a short walk. The location is next to a plaza with bus/taxi service to either of the two train stations. The breakfast was typical of breakfasts provided in Spanish hotels, and it was good: selection of pastries, cereals, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt and the like. The staff was extremely nice. We arrived before check-in (straight from flight over and train ride to town), and the receptionist found us a room that was ready to be occupied immediately. She must have taken pity on us for how tired we looked. My only complaint is that the second night we were there the air conditioning stopped working. If it were summer, I would have gone down to the desk to complain, and I feel certain they would have fixed the problem. But it was May and not that hot, so we just opened the window. I have been to Spain at least ten times over the past 12 years; this was one of the better hotel experiences I have had. Not the cheapest, but then that's not necessarily their fault. :) I do feel that I got my money's worth.”
A good value hotel in a great city. I liked the hotel because it has character and is not your typical chain hotel. The lobby and public rooms are very nice and reflect the old monestrt. The room is good for the price, the breakfast above average and has good free parking and a pleasant 10 minute walk to the old city.”
Great experience -excellent facilities, courteous staff. Restaurant Claravia is a must!!! Particularly enjoyed my midnight baths in the well-appointed bathroom. Rooms are well insulated making for a very peaceful night. Location is a short walk from town centre - price was very reasonable.”
Comfortable room/hotel. Disappointed the a la carte restaurant was closed. Having travelled for 9 hours we just wanted a meal & a good bottle of wine but all we could find were tapas bars in the area.”
Great location with acces to park, train and bus station...and close to the town centre for shops and restaurants. The breakfast selection was excellent but the hotel should consider adding it to their rates to maximise customers - its worth it!”
Perfect location for me as I did not have personal transport - staff efficient but I would encourage a warmer approach to non-spanish speakers. I am sure I would have seen more (& spent more euros in their community) if I was more warmly informed of local interesting sites and experiences. If more English language is not possible, people working in the tourist industry could encourage local government/councils to make more tourist literature available in english and then ensure their guests have access to it or are guided to information sites - a win/win for everyone.”
