Beautifully appointed within the Jewish quarter of Toledo, the El Greco is clean, comfortable and everything required for a short citybreak. The staff are helpful and courteous and the hotel is good value for money. The breakfast is well worth the extra and underground parking is available if required. Good restaurants can be found nearby and only a short (uphill) walk to the attractions. There is a gift shop and cafe attached to the hotel, but no on-site bar - the only negative to such an enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.”
The hotel was great, with good location and modern facilities. Unfortunately, it was as if there were a retirement home that checked in, which meant slow service, full elevators and a pervasive smell of medicine/lotions.”
We had a room overlooking Toledo city and it was fantastic. The front desk staff, one in particular, was extremely helpful and spoke fantastic English. I had to make an urgent phone call to a Spanish company and she even called them for me and spoke to them in Spanish on my behalf. So helpful! The bus outside is very convenient and the hotel is close enough to the city to walk if you want - we did and it took about 10-15 mins. The only downsides were that we had to catch a taxi to and from the train station due to the buses not running early enough for us, and due to the time of year there was no aircon despite the unusual heat. We were able to open the windows in the room which helped with the heat. Overall, a great place to stay if you are visiting Toledo and highly recommended.”
Complimentary minibar and lounge items along with lounge WifFi access were welcome features of our brief stay. Front desk quite helpful and welcoming and room, although rather small, was adequate for the price.”
One of the most fascinating Holy Weeks in Spain occurs in Cuenca and for the past fifty years it has coincided with Semana de Música Religiosa -- a week long offering of liturgical music performances -- one group who sand there was from Bruges.\ Location of the hotel could not be finer -- much more convenient than the overpriced parador. The staff could not have been more cordial and accommodating. We have traveled in Spain for the past 40 years and operate an on-line Spanish fine food site in the USA. We know Spain well and I would rank our experience in Cuenca and at the Posada San José way up toward the top. The dining room and staff are fine -- good honest well prepared unpretentious authentic meals. Parking is available down the very narrow street. We just parked our care there and did not touch it for four days.”
Very convenient if you're traveling on the A4 motorway but otherwise a long way from anything. A remarkably peaceful room considering how close to the traffic the hotel is situated. Friendly staff, a good evening meal and breakfast and recommendable as a one night stop.”
It is a large hotel , very stylish and clean. Very comfortable large double room with bathroom. Breakfast was not included in price but was good value. Large gated car park in front of hotel.”
Very nice, clean hotel. Parking was a little "tight" and there was a daily charge for this (i.e not included in room rate) Very conveniently located near main highway and near downtown and all the central tourist sights. Still impossible to get coffee before 8:00 AM unless one uses room service but this seems to be an inherent problem throughout Spain.”
We stopped off at the Molino de Alcuneza for one night on our way to the Madrid airport . The converted mill and setting were lovely. The owner is very hands on and helpful The food in the dining room was wonderful. We had a very positive experience and we would have liked to have been able to stay longer to relax and explore the area.”
