good hotel, a little out of town, but handy for the bus station nearby, only negative no local restaurants after a busy day sightseeing uptown and bar restaurant in the hotel which is separate / more focussed on local street trade not very helpful if you don't speak spanish - but it still is a good hotel despite the restaurant”
Hotel was great! Pool was lovely, the life guard Iratz helped my son a lot on the pool. Staff could be slightly friendlier but I think that that it is Spanish way!! Location was fantastic, just 10 min walk to the beach.”
The Maria Cristina is a beautiful hotel, in a great location, near to both beaches and the old town. Our bedroom was huge, overlooking the river with a gigantic bed. The staff are helpful and the valet service was great. The hotel is expensive but we got a special discount offer for our 4 night stay so it just made it affordable. San Sebastian is a lovely city, beautiful beaches, great shops, loads of bars and restaurants, especially in the old town. The only down side for us was that all the restaurants are pretty much the same, tapas becomes rather monotonous, plus the Spanish seem quite happy to eat standing up, we prefer sitting! Would recommend the hotel and San Sebastian, a perfect place for all ages, hope to go back one day.”
Very clean and comfortable room, good quality of service. Breakfast a bit disappointing.”
What an excellent hotel and the value for money for the room and facilities was also excellent. My wife and I spent two nights there before catching the ferry back to Portsmouth and we will definately stay again. Our bedroom was beautiful, the bed very comfy the bathroom out of this world. The only downside was the cost of food, we ate the first night at the hotel but it was very expensive and there are a lot of restaurants nearby for a lot less. We had a very good meal the following night near the hotel for less than half the price.”
Great hotel, friendly staff, very clean, room compact, but perfectly adequate for a few nights stay. The only thing I would say it was terribly hot, maybe because we were on the upper floor? Great location, opposite the Guggenheim and near the old town. Had a fun stay in bilbao.”
Good value, really friendly staff, good location close to airport with an easy walk into town and absolutely first rate restaurant round the corner. Hotel a little hard to find in a residential district. Maybe not the location for a long stay but good for a short break. Some rooms are in a lower ground area which are fine unless the view is important to you but it means the external photos of the hotel don't do it justice.”
A little expensive, but otherwise a very nice hotel in excellent location”
The room was very clean and modern. The shower head was wonderful! the staff was very nice, they even called a taxi for me. Overall this is a very nice hotel, I highly recommend it.”
Used this hotel for return ferry journey to UK. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. Rooms were modern, clean and well appointed and we were able to get connecting rooms which was useful with our children. Location is some distance from city centre and in middle of retail park which meant eating out was not really an option without using transport into Bilbao.Restaurant meals were good quality but 'nouvelle cuisine' in both quantity and price. Buffet breakfast was better much value.”
On busy main road - slightly confusing access (to do with road layout and one way system). Very helpful staff. Free wifi would be an added advantage to booking again. Another couple of sockets both sides of bed and near to mirror. Reasonable priced restaurant - and good food.”
