Chose this hotel because I had stayed there when it was owned by a chain and loved it. It has barely changed. The best value for money I have ever had in Jacksonville. I will mark it and stay there again and certainly would recommend it to anyone looking for good, clean accommodation close to everything in JAX.”
Easy access to major freeways but the hotel was still very quiet. Staff was consistently friendly over our 4 day stay. Good breakfast in a clean area. The room was clean and it was helpful to have a microwave and frig. It was November so it was to cold to use the pool but it looked great. I took a chance on the hotel because of the low price and it is not a resort type of hotel. However, we were very happy with our stay.”

Very cute b&b, ideal location to walk around all of St. Augustine's main downtown area / St. George Street etc. We happened to choose the smaller room, Catalina but for one night it was just fine. I'd get a larger room if staying longer.”
The front desk clerk, Dustin exhibited "The Art OfExceptional Customer Service." This was my second stay at The Renaissance and I will return, there every time that I come to St. Augustine, FL when I visit my Father and Brother. I should be returning from Kabul, Afghanistan for R&R in May 2013. The room service was great.”
Front desk staff was very helpful. They went out of their to help us find the best way to see the Festival of Lights in St. Augustine and it turned out great. A big Thank You to them. Older motel but it was clean. They had a nice Continental breakfast. We would stay again.”
Overall it was nice, but in the morning I got a bill for a local phone call in the amount of $.75 which I did not make. It wasn't so much the money-it was the fact that I brought it to the attention of the front desk person and after a little bit of bickering bck and forth, she took it off saying she would pay it since it was only $.75 and handed me a new bill without the phone charge, but with some attitude added at no extra charge.”
I went to this hotel to get away from family and friends, just to read, relax and get some much needed rest. The location was great because it was tucked away. Although it was off busy Archer Road and I-75, I had no problems with outside noise. Now the guest upstairs was another thing. The guest on the level above us seemed to never stop walking around. Every step they made, I heard. It was irritating and cut my sleep a little.”
This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood convenient to the campus of the University of Florida. It was moderately comfortable and we enjoyed our visit to the area. Only shortfall was the free breakfast which we would not recommend (there is a IHOP nearby).”
The Hotel is right in the middle of the beach area of the town. It is literally a few metres from the beach and the oceanfront rooms have outstanding views. It is also a few metres from a collection of excellent bars and restaurants. The only downside is that the pool is really only what could be described a plunge pool and is located in a corner of the car park.”
I was there to go to Mayo Clinic. The location of hotel is very convenient for Mayo and trip to the beach. The front desk service was friendly and competent. The Bed was out of this world comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. We WILL stay here again.”
My husband and I went for an overnight getaway and were very happy with our stay. We only live an hour and a half away from jax beach so we go to the beach frequently and have always wanted to stay in this hotel due to its proximity to beach, Walgreens, publix and local restraunts. They even had complimentary appetizers coupons at Joe's Crab Shack which is a few steps away. The front desk was more than helpful with whatever we needed and even called our room after checking in to be sure everything was fine. We were very pleased with the size of our room and all it's amenities so we will be bringing our kids back with us next time.”
