Lovely hotel, close to the town. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and very good quality. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful and polite. A great place to stay for all”
This is my second visit to this hotel, and again it did not disapoint, the room was in a lovely position overlooking the gardens at the front of the hotel, giving amazing views of St Hellier. My daughter had a single room which was located at the rear of the hotel, which was dark. My advice would be to request a room at the front of the hotel if possible, as the ones to the rear overlook houses, and seem quite dark. The food in Saffrons was amazing, indian food like you have never tasted before. All the staff where helpful and the overall service was very good. I would also recommend a treatment in the spa, a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Although the hotel is not in the centre of St Hellier, it does provide a regular bus service to the town, and is a 10 minute walk. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing break and I will be going back again, to refresh and recharge my batteries as soon as I can.”
Great hotel, everything great except one thing. Brakfast advertised as 06:30. Having never used it I arrived at 06:30 and the room was empty. I didn't know to just get on with it and help myself and waited 10 mins before a waiter arrive to offer T&C. The butter was rock hard (as all hotels are) and the OJ glasses are the usual tiny ones, which means several trips, but this is a stard for all hotels. Other than that minor blip, the breakfast was lovely.”
On arrival from the Airport to the Hotel at 0800 our room was ready which was really convenient as we were staying for just 3 nights It meant we could start to explore after relaxing for an hour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, a really wide choice with very attentive staff. The spa and pool made for a really nice opportunity to relax after a day's walking. The Hotel was really nice overall..”
the hotel is of a very good standard for 3 stars and the in house facilities are excellent. the restaurant has an excellent menu with something for everyone, very fresh and local. the staff are professional and well trained and the decor and view are most pleasant. the rooms are of a good size with free wifi a good selection of tv channels on flat screen and a vast selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and herbal teas to choose from as well as cookies all of which are replenished daily. on arrival we found a basket of fruit and chocolate to welcome us which was a very nice touch. the hotel is just across the street from the beach and from the front has stunning views across the bay. we had rooms facing the side 214 and 215 but could also see out to sea and the one room even had a private terrace. the bed was a little soft but not uncomfortable and probably more a question of personal taste. the curtains gave a good black out for those wishing almost complete darkness. it is very peaceful there and a joy to sleep with the window open and listen to the sound of the waves. there was a 30th birthday party on the friday night in the function room but to be honest we hardly heard a thing. guernsey is a small island so nowhere is far away. we found it an ideal location right by the sea and maximum 15 minutes from st peter port and the airport. there is plenty of parking behind the hotel and parking around the island is free at the moment you just have to display a disk showing your arrival time and obey the limits. hire car seems very reasonable and to be honest the smaller the better as the streets are very narrow and have a tendency to make one shut ones eyes when another car passes not helped buy most lanes having granite walls right up to the curb on either sie and barely being wide enough for 1 car sometimes let alone 2!!!! all in all well worth a visit and value for money. the continental and cooked breakfasts were spectacular and having your breakfast looking o”
Aside from the beautiful indoor pool, wonderful dining area in the conservatory, and nicely tended gardens, the staff were friendly and supportive, but best of all, the main bus into town was ten yards from the hotel itself. We will be back. We loved it. Nicely situated to be close to the airport, as well.”
