Extremely clean, comfortable and well located for walking or Strasbourg's rent-a-bike scheme, Le Grand also offered a varied continental breakfast. Staff very polite and friendly. Only negatives, extra Sales Tax surcharge on departure despite pre-booking receipt stating (TTC) - all charges included. Also wrong information given about local car park which again meant extra charges.”
Overall, the hotel was OK for three nights. There are three separate buildings in the same street and I had to walk to the main building for breakfast. The room was clean but the bedside lights didn't work, which was annoying. Also, there was no hairdryer, which meant going out on a freezing morning with wet hair. The shower was good, with plentiful hot water. I didn't use the kitchen equipment, so can't comment on that. For the money, this hotel was good but, with a few small adjustments, it could be very good.”
Strasbourg is a wonderful city, full of surprises around every corner, Maison Rouge is ideally located for exploring -- the major sites are close at hand...and excellent restaurants abound in the area. One is so close that it offers room service. Staff are helpful and our room was comfortable with a reasonable rate. What more could you ask?”
I wanted to surprise my husband with a charming classy hotel, and thats just what we got. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Strasbourg. Very close and easy to get to city center. A must stay!!!”
We arrived at 10am which is way too early but we were allowed to check in, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was the best we have stayed in our 10-week travel. Walking distance to the city centre. Laundrette in the neighbourhood. Free wifi and parking chargeable underground.”
For the price, these were fantastic!! Loved the apartment sized spaces with two bedrooms and a sofa bed. Front staff was super kind and helpful. Within easy driving distance to Colmar, castles, wineries all in a cute little town. After a long travel trip, it was nice to sit on the balcony and look out at the mountains and enjoy France!”
Lovely, comfortable hotel, with the feel of a big log cabin. We had a quiet room at the back and there was a chilled-out terrace at the side. The location was fantastic, in the stunning medieval village of Eguisheim, close to 'Colmar, packed with local wine-makers selling delicious Muscat... We will definitely be back.”
A very nice and beautifully located hotel with a very good service from the hotel Director. Our room was on the first floor, with a Nice view over the central court in eguisheim .”
