I enjoyed my three night stay mostly because of the great location.Despite booking a non-smoking room,the first room I was given reeked of cigarette smoke.I was immediately given a different room upon request,which was fine.None of the windows in my room could open. Apart from that the room was comfortable.The fitness facility is a windowless room with a treadmill,stationary bike,rowing machine and elliptical,which was kind of disappointing.Staff were friendly and helpful.”
Very nice stay at the hotel, short walk to transport and Cardiff Bay. We went to the RHS Garden Show and left our car at the hotel which saved us looking for parking. Stacey at reception was very helpfull and made our stay very pleasant, we will be back.”
I stayed for 3 nights . Wonderful hotel. Excellent location. Efficient helpful staff. Breakfast so varied and rich. Room spacious.room service is fast. The only problem was the free wi fi was only available in the lobby. Otherwise you must pay and i thought guests shouldnt pay to stay connected anymore ( we re 2012) .”
Firstly I must say I will use the hotel again. Stayed for my sons 18th birthday. We used the bar which was comfortable and the staff were friendly the bar prices were a little high but I suppose that's to be expected. Breakfast was lovely we were seated straight away and the staff were great. The room was comfortable it's nice to have a settee and not have to sit on the bed The bed was great the bathroom adequate but the lighting was as dismal as the view from the window. We didn't use the leisure facilities as we were only there for one night and I have a broken shoulder. All in all I would say give it a go great hotel uninspiring location”
Apart from painfully slow check in everything is as you would expect from a Marriott, adequately maintained, clean, working and all the usual things in the room. Nice location on the beach and next to the marina with various facilities nearby and the town centre in walking distance.”
Good cheap hotel, a bit out from city centre about a 20 min walk but if there are 2 or more of you its only 5 pound into the city centre in a taxi so not so bad considering the price of the hotels in Swansea city centre.”
we stayed at the empire hotel in july 2011 for 4 days it is such a beautiful hotel and the staff very friendly the rooms were spotlessly clean the food was delicious they had a big selection at breakfast whatever u wanted they had it such lovely people serving us always a smile for u the only thing i was disappointed in was the bar it only did a choice of 2 beers on draught which i didnt like but apart from that we would highly recommend the hotel and we would go back again we enjoyed it”
The hotel is in a very convenient location. unfortunately car parking can be a struggle at times. We didnt get on the hotel carpark once as it was always full so we had to pay to park on the street which we also found difficult due to the volume of cars. Give the cost of the hotel it was disappointing that our child had to sleep on a put up bed which limited the space in our room and also there were 3 of us but the number of glasses, towels etc still only catered for 2. We called for some ice which was with us within 5 minutes which was excellent service and the snack bar is really nice. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.”
I stayed for one night in a standard room for one person. Nice room and bathroom - although newish wallpaper showed some damage. One or two dust issues, apart from that I enjoyed my stay and will return soon.”
Went as a part of wedding party being held a Hotel. Rooms very clean only down side bed a little bit uncomfortable. Spa fantastic. Nelson bar food excellent steak pie had more steak than pie : ) Night time wedding in Grosvenor Suite excellent all well catered for nothing too much trouble.Totally recommend Hotel”
good access to the motorway system . however, nothing close to the hotel except a very good pub/restaurant named the Running Hare. Couldn't fault the room cleanliness. Decor of rooms a little dark. Could also have done with better lighting in the room. Only had dinner in the hotel restaurant once.It was the carvarey which was ok.”
The room was very nice, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only negative comment on the room is that when it was warm the and we needed to open the windows the noise from the motorway was easily heard and often disrupted our sleep. The staff were happy to help at all times and cleaners kept the room to a good standard. The hotel is situated in an ideal place if you have a car to travel around chester. It is no more than a 15-20 min drive to chester zoo, chester city centre and cheshire oaks. My partner and I would gladly use the hotel again if any other trips to chester would arise.”
