Excellent hotel in a fantastic location just below Carlton Hill. Close enough to Princes St and Waverly Bridge for buses but much quieter. No noise in the room which was very clean and comfortable and with a big TV on the wall opposite the bed. Even had an iron and ironing board. Staff all very helpfull and pleasant. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food but the rest was great!

Absolutely beautiful, genuine hotel with a fantastic location! Everything is within walking distance - airport buses, must-sees, shops. And it's always nice to be met by a man in kilt upon arrival =) The one minus was the temperature of the room - I was there in early February and it was freezing, the climate unit didn't help - but the blanket did.

This hotel is very central to everything in the wonderful city of Edinburgh. They are so polite & helpful at the reception desk. We asked to be moved from room 237 as the aircon vents were noisy during the night and they couldn't be more helpful. So we would recommend this hotel for your next stay in Edinburgh and we will be back.

Very happy with the apartments. Clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. 5 minute walk from central station and the main shopping areas and not far from Parkhead. Would recommend it to anyone and will certainly be staying there again in the future.

I have been using the hotel regular due to work,meetings travel etc and find the hotel very handy,clean and quiet how ever my last stay wasn't as enjoyable and if it was my first time I wouldn't be coming again, the room was very noisy, the curtains wouldn't fully close and the bathroom was like being in a sauna. I gave up trying to sleep and got up at half four and got an early train home.

Spent a weekend at this Best Western Hotel. Location was good, near to many amienities and the center of town. Nicely finished and decorated well. Room was comfortable, however it was very small with little floor space due to the oversized bed (for the size of the room). Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hallway smelt like a bin the entire stay. We found it slightly inconvienient to have to wait until 2pm for check in. These were only minor complaints and overall we had quite a pleasant stay at this hotel. Would recommend for short term stay.

What can I say, it is everything that other from this site and trip advisor say that it is. Friendly staff, a few minutes walk from many shopping and food locations. Excellent stay. I would stay here again 100%

Very close to city center and train station. nice and rooms. Pity there's no lift. Receptionist not always there (sometimes waitressing in the bar below), but when there very helpful and friendly, especially Linda.... Pity the WIFI is quite slow and not included.

Pros Location, Free wifi in lobby, The lobby itself is nice a nd you could sit around n drink n browse here, friendly n helpful staff, nice room and bathroom, very clean, Lots of eateries around Cons Expensive to use wifi in room, thin walls between rooms, no room service, room heating was not good

A couple of minor complaints...rooms were not easily accessible with all stairs. Bathtub/Shower were tough to use. Loud doors/toilet. Parking was not convenient at all. Perfect location. Our view of the castle was breathtaking. Location was very convenient - great shopping in the area and variety of restaurants. All in all, very pleased - would recommend and would definitely stay again.

We booked and paid for a Retreat Room, which was fabulous, but were slightly annoyed that others booking into a standard room got 'free' upgrades. We did have a few issues and felt they weren't dealt with appropriately. Our points had to be raised several times before they were resolved. Although, the hotel was great and would definitely go back!

Enjoyed our stay immensely and the service was excellent. We wanted to stay an extra night but the hotel was fully booked. At breakfast Andrea came over to advise they had a cancellation and we got our extra night - what great personal service. The hotel was clean, room well set out with comfy beds and breakfast facilities great. Would visit there again anytime after our positive experience.
