We went there as a family this time and it did exceed our expectations. Every meal we had at Fiesta Americana was an excellent meal, we are used to 5*hotels and this is in no way a 4* hotel as seen on many websites, it compares to 5* and even more (if there was more).”
The hotel was very comfortable. It was situated a little far from the centre and thus made it a bit more difficult to visit places - we had to hire a car to get around the tourist sites. However, we expected this having looked at the location prior to booking and did not mind a half hour walk into town in the evenings. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a comfortable hotel in a peaceful location. If your plan is to visit the many sites around Merida and do not plan to get a car then this hotel is probably not for you.”
A few blocks from the central square, nice pool. Large rooms, with balconies. Has a bar and a restaurant, though we did not try the restaurant. Also has 2 computers with free internet access, and free wifi in the rooms. Also has parking lot, a must if you have a rental car to park! The only markdown they get from me is that we had booked for Fri and Sat nights. We ended up getting to Merida in Thursday instead, and were hoping they would just let us use the reservation for Thur and Fri instead. However, even though they had rooms available for Thursday night, they would not do this. Their call I guess, but not a great way to win over customers. Other than that though, the hotel is excellent, and we ended up staying Thur, Fri and Sat.”
the grounds are gorgeous and invite wandering through the paths. lots of history here, including photos of the many famous people who have stayed at the hotel. the food at the lunch buffet wasn't great, and was pretty pricey. the hotel looks out over Chichen Itza which is a bonus. there is an entrance to the ruins right on the hotel grounds, so a very short walk away.”
Good quality hotel in Piste, about 1.5km from the Chichen Itza site. Perfectly acceptable place to stay - basically what you'd expect from a Best Western in Mexico. Good for the price. Nice having a pool.”
This hotel has a perfect location to visit these great ruins. It is possible to walk into the ruins for the evening show and return again early in the morning. Rooms are very Spanish but beds are uncomfortable and difficult for tall people as they are fitted into alcoves. Indoor courtyard is nice. Food was ok but nothing special. Price wise it is a bargain as a location for the ruins.”
We were very happy with our one night stay at this lovely property in Valladolid. The air conditioner in the first room they gave us did not work. The maintanence man was there in seconds. When he couldn't fix it, we were immediately given another room. The rooms are lovely, bright, and very comfortable. Loved the complimentary bath products, especially the lotion. The buffet breakfast that was included was quite splendid-several hot dishes, 3 kinds of juice, cereals, yogurts, breads and sweet rolls and lots of wonderful fresh fruit. The only drawback is that the hotel is just a little too far to walk to the Zocalo. We had a car and were able to drive and park without any problem. Valladolid is a lovely, friendly town and it is well worth spending a day or two there.”
There's not a lot of choice for hotels in Valladolid, but this is a great option. We arrived with no expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is right on the town square, in a great central location. It's a decent size and the service was very professional. We got a standard room with a king bed. The room was not huge and the mattress was a bit old and lumpy but the room was clean and the shower was very hot with good pressure. The rooms have a pretty outlook down onto the pool and there's a carpark on site too. The restaurant looked simply gorgeous, but the food was overpriced and average.”
The hotel itself is nice and the staff was friendly. Our room was clean but the remote to the tv was broken, there was no phone in our room and the beds were awful - we're talking mattresses from 15 years ago that cave in in the middle when you sit on them. We didn't eat at the restaurants there but the food looked pretty good. Given the area I didn't expect this to be the W so I would definitely stay there again.”
Located about a hundred meters from the entrance to the Uxmal Ruins makes this one of the best choices for visiting the site. The entrance admission to the site includes the admission to the light show in the evening which is worth taking in. The site closes over the super hour and re-opens at 7 PM for the light show. Enough time to walk back to the hotel and relax or have super before the light show. For non-Spanish speakers a translation headset can be rented which has the main languages like English, French, German etc. The audio portion of the light show gives some of the history and stories of this city-state and I would highly recommend renting a set.”
