The Camino Real was a great hotel and we had a great stay there. The staff was amazing and always willing to help. The prices were a little high for Mexico, but still cheaper than the States. The police were a real presence, but the area was very safe. Many MANY joggers and ladies walking alone after dark made me comfortable of that. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Most of the time, we were the only Americans around, but everyone was patient with us, or understood english. This really is where Mexicans go to vacation and it was nice to feel welcome.”
I am very satisfied with my stay at this hotel, it is located inside the main Shopping Mall in Veracruz, very convenient, their Beach club is great with pool and the beach together, the only problem is their bathroom as it is not senior friendly, their bathub is very high and a 70+ senior needs to almost jump to get in and out of the shower with the potential of a catastrophic fall, they should fix this. In general my family had a great time in Veracruz, the most beautiful state in Mexico”

My fiancee and I spent 3 nights at Holiday Inn Boca del Rio. We really liked the hotel. It was a great location and a great value for the price. It was very close to the beach and walking distance from the mall. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and while we did not reserve an ocean view room our room did have a beautiful view of the ocean and the malecon. While it was not luxurious it was a nice place to spend a few days.”
Don't come here and expect a 5 Star hotel. Also expect to attempt to speak in Spanish. The room I had was a double bed and a single with an air conditioner (a must) and it had a little kitchenette (sink, microwave, fridge) and a few dishes. Fridge was handy to keep bottled water and Coronas. :) You can eat at the little restaurant they have and also use their swim up bar too. Pools on hand were nice to beat the heat. Free wireless Internet in lobby, restaurant and pool area (but it is not that fast) so just check email. Buses are cheap and stop right out front of the hotel and taxi's are as easy as an arm wave. Overall good place to stay without breaking the bank.”
Highly recommended for business travellers. Clean rooms. Good work space with plugs for computers and chargers. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Restaurant was reasonably priced and food was good. Very acceptable for business travel. Not really a spot for vacation or family travel. I will stay here again.”
