Ideal position - walking distance to Wooden Boat Festival, Salamanca Markets and the CBD. Therefore no parking issues. Room was very comfortable, clean and modern and staff were very helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again and will recommend to friends.”
We stayed at the hotel in October after reading a review calling it the 'ugly' hotel. It is a beautiful, modern, centrally located facility within walking distance of most places of interest in hte harbor district. Staff were friendly and helpful and internet access was fast and reasonably priced. The room was roomy and the bed comfortable.”
Room was clean and neat only real complaint was the shower no pan so made for a wet floor in the bathroom. If you are use to a european room will seem large if you are use to a north american room on the small size. Booked the standard queen but ended up in a queen/single. Good for the weekend trip and less then a 10 min walk to waterfront. Would stay again for a short trip. Parking was tight arrived friday around 3 got the last space underground and if I had to guess less than 40 spots.”
The Accommodation at Stratham was 1st Class and we would recommend it to everybody. The surrounds were full of atmosphere and a great place to use as a home base while you visit the surrounding areas.”
Absolutely beautiful old 19th century mansion in a gorgeous setting in a beautiful seaside town. The overall condition of the hotel is quite good, including beautiful grounds and easy access to restaurants. The hotel's restaurant was closed the night of our stay, but there are about a half dozen convenient options in town. Only a few disappointments: no lighting at night in the parking area; the furnishings in the room (especially the mattress) are in need of updating; and the included continental breakfast is basic, at best - tea and coffee were in pots on warmers and both tasted very bad, and food selections were very plain. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay and will return there again, I hope.”
We received a warm welcome and lots of useful information on arrival. The suite was roomy, very clean and well furnished. The location is convenient to a small supermarket and the centre of the town. The wi-fi internet connection worked well and was provided at a very low cost.”
Stayed on launceston over Oz day long weekend and the hotel was good. Great spot for those wishing to enjoy the gorge but we stayed with a toddler so I thought it was a bit isolated from city centre. It was only 5-10 minutes into the centre on foot though just not easy with little ones. Room was great as it had 2 rooms so we were able to put our son to bed and not have to do the same as the lounge room was downstairs. The rooms are refurbished and have historic character as does the outside. It looks good and passers by do stop to take photos. Overall good, but lack of air con could be an issue when warmer. Had to have windows open and there is basically a dual carriageway outside which can be obtrusive at times.”
The positive thing about this hotel is that it is in a great location, close to city center and City Park and on a quiet street. The room is good and clean. The down side was that during our stay, the hotel was under renovation, so the shops on the ground floor looks uninteresting, and the carpet was wet. The staff we met would respond if we had a query, but they were obviously uninterested, but unfriendly and cold. I would recommend this hotel to those who care about the room and the location, and nothing else.”
In general the stay is very pleasant. I have to comment on the service of the restaurant in the hotel, which is excellent and it really light up my stay there. The ventilation in the room is not so well. There is a clock tower next to the hotel and it makes me unable to sleep until after mid night.”
Service and restaurant food were wonderful, the only downside was the bathroom needed upgrading and some cleanliness issues.”
The location was great just next to the park gates. We had looked two cabins (two couples) but if we had know we could have booked one cabin with two bedrooms ( one cabin was upgraded to that). The cabins were very clean, quiet and comfortable; no hesitation in recommending them. Wi-Fi would be good addition.”
Arrived from Strahan looking forward to hiking around Dove Lake the following day. Lovely room, nice restaurant (loved the Beef Mulligatawny soup) and really enjoyed the honey scented Cradle Mountain Whiskey. Really comfortable bed, nice ensuite and loved the little wallabies that hung around my balcony in the late evening. It was nice to sit down in the library area and just relax. The staff gave me some great information about the area. A really nice place to stay, with a feel that reminds me of the Victorian snowfields.”
