We used this hotel for an overnight stop before catching an early morning flight from Hermosillo airport. It is located conveniently just off highway 15 and about 25mins drive to the airport at 6.00am, you should allow 40 mins if travelling during rush hour periods. It is a modern hotel approx 2 years old, we enjoyed happy hour in the bar followed by a special international(French, Italian and Spanish) hot buffet which was excellent. Rooms were a good size with king size beds and a roomy bathroom and free WiFi. Certainly an hotel we would return to if travelling in the area.”
The front desk staff, as always was very pleasant and friendly. Specifically, Carla was very professional and is a great example of how customer service should be. Thank you Carla and Thank you Fiesta Americana Hermosillo for making my stay perfect!!”
We stayed only 1 night, but the hotel room was clean and safe. The Breakfast was good and the employees were all friendly.”
Service was lacking. but it's slow down there and staff is lean - and I think things are just beginning to pick up and the staffing is maybe behind the curve. Maintenance people everywhere though - landscaping was immaculate at the hotel, but the golf course looks sick.. Whoever owns room 406 has a beautiful place - thanks to you folks. You need a sign in book so people can leave comments.. The Las Palomas in general is much nicer than pretty much all of the surrounding condos - so if you can get a good deal, take it..”
Very clean and tasteful decor. The beds and pillows were Very comfortable. Had the deluxe, king bed, kitchenette, hide a bed sofa room which was very big with a very nice ocean view. The only thing I found discomforting was no dishes, cutlery or kitchen towels in the kitchenette. I probably could of asked for some but I only needed a few items and just did without. The resort had beautiful pools, hot tub, beach area and many beach chairs and loungers.”
For the price this hotel was a good value. It is on the way to Sandy Beach and has a grand entrance, nice waterfall with pool and jacuzzi. We thought it important to know that it does have a sand parking lot because we were on a motorcycle. Though a lot of motorcycles parked there in a secure area, we prefer to have pavement, especially when the winds were blowing hard.... If we were in a car, we wouldn't have cared about the sand...unless we had an expensive car. Our unit had very worn carpet that didn't feel clean on bare feet, so tile would have been a better choice. The tv was small and older and the room is adequate if you are not planning on staying in it much. Bed was comfortable and lighting was nice.”
It was an excellent experience. The manager and team went above and beyond to provide us excellent service, quality food service, room accomodations and their event staff did a super job handling all the details of my mother in law's 100 birthday celebration. Banquet facilities, food and arrangements for over 80 people. Great service all theway around. If you have a celebration or event this is the place to do it.”
The location was great and there was good security. Overall the hotel was in good condition, there were a few problems such as our phones didn't work and we could not call out. The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant, but not many English speaking so there was some language problems. If we go back we would stay there again because our overall experience was very good.”
This hotel is just what it should be... clean, central, affordable, quiet. No complaints. Always take your printed confirmation and learn the Spanish word for "pre-paid" because they never seem to be sure. I son't fault them for this...Obregon is not a tourist area and I bet they don't get a ton of reservations through US websites! I think the hotel is owned by the same people who own the Holiday Inn across the street so rates are always the same. I have stayed at every major hotel in Ob. and Quality Inn has the largest showers and best water pressure and tempurature, if that matters to you.”
The hotel was lovely. The front desk was cooperative about changing our room when the deck below it was being jack-hammered. However, at first the front desk did say that they would be quitting at 6 - it was 3 at that point! Our friends had come looking for us and the front desk told them we had no reservation. When we got there, they said no one had asked for us even though there was a note at the desk for us. So, while they were unfailingly polite, the customer service left a bit to be desired. Caused us and our friends quite a lot of stress due to not getting messages.”
The hotel is gradually updating the rooms. Our maid service was fine. The main dining room buffet was quite varied and the salads were fresh and delicious. The bar restaurant was open when the main dining hall closed down for lack of sufficient guests, the wait staff was attentive and the food good- mostly catering to American taste. We rode very nice horses on the scenic beach. There is a lot of opportunity to walk along the sea shore-- chairs and chaises are scattered conveniently along the shore. The two pools were kept very clean. The shallow one afforded great fun for children. The hotel caters to weddings mostly on weekends. The wedding music and festivities may go on pretty late in the evening. The water pressure was low for showering. There was hot water but it took a while to warm. There is TV with arts and entertainment channel. If you drive to the harbor, nice restaurants. Couldn't go on a fishing trip this early in the season (4 minimum) The rooms are small but sufficient for a couple. The tile in the rooms and the halls was disinfected daily. We appreciated the friendly staff while dining. Some surfers with kites enjoyed the onshore breeeze. If you are looking for a US luxury hotel you will miss the beautiful craggy shore scene of San Carlos, lots of fresh air and exercise.”
San Carlos is a jewel itself, and the Plaza is the nicest hotel in the area. Beautiful surroundings, very attentive personnel always ready to help, well-maintained resort, directly on a wonderful beach. There is something to do for everyone, from fishing on the pier, to swimming in the nice shallow water, and small trips to nearby tourist attractions such as the pearls' farm and Alamos. It certainly helps if you have a car. We really loved the place and plan returning.”
