Hotels in Sonora

We used this hotel for an overnight stop before catching an early morning flight from Hermosillo airport. It is located conveniently just off highway 15 and about 25mins drive to the airport at 6.00am, you should allow 40 mins if travelling during rush hour periods. It is a modern hotel approx 2 years old, we enjoyed happy hour in the bar followed by a special international(French, Italian and Spanish) hot buffet which was excellent. Rooms were a good size with king size beds and a roomy bathroom and free WiFi. Certainly an hotel we would return to if travelling in the area.

We were just driving through town. City Express Hotels are excellent for this purpose, breakfast was good. This is the 2nd City Express we have been to in our travels. Booked ahead with hotels.com, very convenient.

The front desk staff, as always was very pleasant and friendly. Specifically, Carla was very professional and is a great example of how customer service should be. Thank you Carla and Thank you Fiesta Americana Hermosillo for making my stay perfect!!

Our stay started with the best customer service I have ever had checking in. Daniel was incredible. We planned to switch from a one bedroom to a two bedroom after one night and Daniel made sure the two rooms were next door to each other and walked us through them in advance to make sure they were OK. He was fantastic! The rooms here are actually condos with full kitchen, washer/dryer/ silverware, plates, etc. Quite lovely. One room even had a boogie board for the beach. If you can swing it, go for the 2 bedroom. It has three thermostats including one for each bedroom! Rooms are clean and gorgeous and overlook the ocean. The complex is starting to show a little age, there are a number of areas where the paint has chipped off in large areas and has not been repaired. Checking out was a huge hassle (where was Daniel when I needed him?). After waiting 20 minutes to try to check out, we were told we had to go to a different building. The hotel knows check out time is at 11:00, why schedule one person to handle it? When we went to the other building, they tried to send us back to the first building again! After throwing a fit, they checked us out over the phone at building #2. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay.

As on the two previous times my family went to Puerto Penasco, our destination was the Hotel del Sol Penasco. Each stay has been excellent in every facet from room cleanliness to room service. One request that I would have you consider seroiusly however is the heating of the pool during the winter. Our previous stays had been in the summer and the cool pool was perfect during these hot days. Had a great time; will be visiting again in the near future.

Just half a block from Manny's Beach Club tucked away . Was perfect for what we were looking for, a quiet place to sleep. Even when Manny's was overrun by the crowds, the rooms were adequate. Restaurant and Bar had only 1 person working there but we had bloody Mary's at 9am and someone was there to attend us.

Our stay was pleasant, the staff courteous. The room was very clean. The beds are way too small for 2 people. This was our only complaint. Since we had three in a room, it was very good to have the roll in bed. We ate breakfast on site once, which was okay, but very expensive. Overall good. Thanks.

This hotel is just what it should be... clean, central, affordable, quiet. No complaints. Always take your printed confirmation and learn the Spanish word for "pre-paid" because they never seem to be sure. I son't fault them for this...Obregon is not a tourist area and I bet they don't get a ton of reservations through US websites! I think the hotel is owned by the same people who own the Holiday Inn across the street so rates are always the same. I have stayed at every major hotel in Ob. and Quality Inn has the largest showers and best water pressure and tempurature, if that matters to you.

The location was great and there was good security. Overall the hotel was in good condition, there were a few problems such as our phones didn't work and we could not call out. The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant, but not many English speaking so there was some language problems. If we go back we would stay there again because our overall experience was very good.

A modern hotel with all the amenities right on the marina. The local bus stops in front of the hotel for trips to downtown restaurants or to the larger city of Guaymas (15 miles). The ground floor can be noisy. I'll get a higher floor next time.

As long as you know you are staying at a hotel in Mexico, you shoudl be very happy with this hotel. Don't expect all the staff to speak english, or understand what your expectations are and you will be fine. This place had one of the nicest beaches I've been on in a long time. The place also has it's own lagoon, as well as a very nice pool/spa area. It' is also pet friendly. I would gladly stay again.

We went in January- Great way to scape cold northern weather... Anyways, the hotel is fully functional even on the low season. Very good location for things to do but a little drive to explore the town a little and go clubbing. Overall an excellent choice.
