Very central. Easy cab ride from & to bus. Interior courtyard is small, nice. Desk clerk was pleasant. Our vividly painted room was quiet enough to get rest. It had t.v., tiny fridge, spacious bathroom, and a really big bed. Suited our modest needs perfectly.”
First the bad: yes, this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. It was clearly built in the 50´s or 60´s and nothing has changed. The inside is dark, there are carpets on the walls, and no air conditioning but a very noisy fan (we called it "Fred the Fan"), etc, etc. BUT: the staff are extremely friendly and helpful; the place, while worn, is kept clean (except for the trash that was left on one of the landings of the stairs); the room was clean and the location couldn´t be beat for the price. It´s basic, but it was exactly what I wanted. You can pay more for fluff, but if you want a place to toss your bags and then go sightsee, this would be an excellent choice. I´ve stayed in more upscale places and been treated terribly by the staff and I´ve stayed in more "rustic" places like this BW and, frankly, I´ll take the friendliness of the BW staff everytime.”
An absolutely wonderful hotel, modern and clean but full of those Mexican touches, from the furniture and artwork to the plants and wall colours. A 7 minute walk to the main square. The hotel restaurant served the best Mexican meal I had during a 5 week trip, again a fusion of modern cusine with Mexican classic dishes. It is hard to rate this hotel highly enough for the price, and the staff were just as good. If you do not want to stay in a coorporate rabbit hutch (Holiday Inn, Fiesta Americana) then this is for you.”
A lovely hotel set in the fascinating town of Cholula. It is literally minutes away from the huge pyramid that dominates the area and easy to find. The hotel is in a delightful building set around a central courtyard with a large swimming pool. My only complaint is that the beds weren't overly-comfortable. I would definitely go back though.”

First room we were assigned had no fresh air window and was dark. It gathered kitchen smells fron the internal enclosed courtyard. Once we explored other options we were very happy as the next room had good daylight that was easy to control with excellent shutters and good sound proofing. Service was of very high standard. Restaurant was excellent with local cuisine. Very satisfied, but this was conditional on the choice of room.”
The hotel was in a beautiful building with a fabulous foyer and the room was very nice. Although we loved it we were disappointed in some aspects of the service, eg a note in our room offered compliamentary tea and coffee but when we searched for it, there was none of either on any of the days during our stay. One morning we were able to find some hot water from the kitchen but no teabags and on the Sunday morning we were told the kitchen was closed so there would be no hot water. A small beef maybe but if it is offered, it should be provided. There were a couple of other small issues re service but the wonderful ambience of Puebla overrode them all.”
