Nice design and layout. Room had 2 queen beds and were very comfortable. Pool is a little small, so it gets full fast. Location is near U of Manitoba and new stadium, but little else. Getting out of the hotel into northbound traffic is a pain; either turn southbound and make a U-turn, or drive through adjacent plaza parking lot to a set of lights. Close to south perimeter highway, so would make a comfortable overnight stopover.”
Very clean and vey nice people. The only thing that I found was that the windows were very cold and need to be changed as they let a very cold draft in the room. The pool was great and occupied my son TY.”
Great place to stay. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Room service and restaurant have excellent food. Staff very pleasant and helpful. I have stayed here for business as well as with my family. Enjoyed it everytme.”
The best the staff was amazing a great time for summer or a winter getaway. Everything is there Robin's donuts, shops, pool, restaurant and bar. I wish I could live there.”
All was very good - but they need to put up "please pick up after your pet signs on their grass areas, need to give plastic baggies to pet owners upon check-in, install garbage cans at each hotel entrance so pet owners have someplace to throw plastic baggies away easily, employ people to pick up dog poop on grass areas when irresponsible pet owners don't pick up. I was vigilant in picking up after my pet but was shocked that too many other pet owners were not. Other than that - no complaints.”
The area wasn't horrible but far from the greatest with the hotel backing on a trailer park. The hot breakfast was quick and easy but next time I would drive to a Denny's or something similar. Over all iy was nice.”
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak in Brandon. The restaurant in the hotel was Excellent, and breakfast was included in the price of our stay. For breakfast, we had a coupon to go to the restaurant and order what we wanted of the menu. Usually an included breakfast is cereal or muffins in a different room, but this was a served breakfast. I recommend it highly!!”
I can find no fault with the Inn or the staff. I had a wonderful stay....I did, however, mention that it was a shame that the CANADIAN FLAG above the main entrance door way was in such disrepair, that it should be taken down and replaced.”
The staff were friendly, and the room was warm and clean. I opted for the business room for 2 days, and I am generally quite happy with my stay. I didn't use the pool, and I didn't bother with the breakfast. Even though there was at least 1 sports team and a number of youths, it was also quite quiet. The sofa (hide-a-bed presumably) was not very comfortable for sitting, however the bed was good. I will be returning to this location in the event that I stay in Portage again.”
Comfort and cleanliness of room was satisfactory. Staff was friendly enough, although both the booking agent and the front desk staff both quoted 1st a free breakfast, then a $4.29 then a $1.29 breakfast - all of which were wrong, since we were there for Friday night - Saturday morning and there are no such specials! Went across to Mcd's for breakfast instead. Fridge and coffee pot in room which served there purpose.”
