The hotel is easy to find, right on the way into the city of Colima from the toll road from Guadalajara. Overall, it is attractive. It is built in a U-shape with a central lobby area and restaurant in front and 2 wings containing the rooms on either side of the attractive pool and outdoor area. Parking is off to the side in front with a driveway up to the lobby for check-in. There appears to be a lack of English-speaking staff, necessary for international visitors. Fortunately, I speak enough Spanish to communicate. The room was large and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, I had requested a smoking room with 2 double beds and was given a room with a king-size bed and no ashtrays. The room was towards the end of one side, making it a good distance from the lobby. It should be mentioned that I am ambulatory, but can't walk too far. The bathroom had a tub with an old-fashioned American-style wall-mounted shower head rather than the hand-held showers you find in Germany and Poland. The bath amenities did not include a disposable shower cap. The towels were OK, but the towel rack was set very high, hard to reach for a short person. The mattress was absolutely terrible, so soft and jiggly it felt as if I had sat down on jello. It had Federkern (springs) and no foam egg-crate pad or pad of any kind; the Federkern kept poking me throughout the night. The TV had CNN International and numerous Spanish-language stations. While this hotel has potential, the deficiencies need to be corrected. I would not recomend this hotel for someone with a back problem or whose Spanish is limited or non-existent. I would consider staying here again if I could get a room closer to the lobby where I didn't have to walk so far and a room with a better mattress on the bed.”
We stayed at Fiesta Inn after spending the day at the beach in Tecoman. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway. Getting to centro (downtown) was also a easy 10 minutes drive. We didn't spend much time in Colima, but will definitely return and stay at this hotel again.”
This hotel is a great place to explore the museums, parks, theatres and eateries in Colima. It´s a colonial style house from the 1800s and has lots of charm (15 foot ceilings, french doors onto small balconies, lovely courtyard). And Colima is worth a visit. The hot water took a while to arrive on turning the knob, but did, so don´t give up. The cathedral bells were a bit close and lovely and loud, but you´re looking for some character, right? Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel.”
