Let me start with the great parts of the hotel and area. The people are so wonderful. Very very nice. The food and cocktails were good as well. The view at the hotel was wonderful. Ensenada was so fun. Great people, food, scenery and shops. Unfortunately, at the hotel, we were not in one of the remodeled rooms at the C&M. The carpet was stained pretty badly in front of the fridge. Also, our curtains in our bedroom had gum that was used by a former hotel guest to hold the curtains together (there is a huge gape between the curtains and the bedroom faces the main hallway). Despite the latter, our room was really clean. What cleaning person would think to look for gum on a curtain right?? The bathroom is huge and it was very clean. The sofa in our room was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever sat on. It just needs to retire. The cushions are so thin they do not cover the sofa at all and your backside hits the metal bed underneath. The matching chair was just fine. More than anything I will be sure to ask for a remodeled room next time. I think that will take care of all of this :o) My husband and I will go back and will give the C&M another chance, just in a newer room. I have been told that the C&M is the nicest hotel in town. We looked around while on our mini vaca and it is true that the grounds at C&M cannot be beat. The older rooms just need some major help.”
We really enjoyed our stay at San Nicolas. Reviewing the photographs surrounding the lobby and restaurant show the history of the owner, his enthusiam for life, which seems to pass through into the spirit of the hotel. Moderate walk into town, which is pleasant and the distance is rewarding on a Saturday night when the bars resemble a Spring break weekend. Five minutes away from the art gallery and the breathtaking historic hotel and grounds on the waterfront. Warm and friendly atmosphere in Ensenada is also found in the hotel and its surrounding streets - felt safe walking around at night.”
The room was pretty decent for it being in Mexico. I dont expect it to be like hotels in the US and it did serve its puprose even though I think I opver paid for this room. The only real complaint I had was there was no water in the pool. I understand its still winter but mexico is always still warm. Also there was no parking space for my car that was no bueno. The resteraunt in the hotel was not very good pricy and they add there tip on there. Other than that We were satisfied.”
I thought is was very good value. Very nice hotel .Very clean. Mannerly staff, good food, lovely outdoor pool area. It's situated in a good part of town with a couple of good restaurants nearby. I have to go back to Tijuana several times next year and wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again.”
The hotel was not as luxurios as they make it out to be. It was just OK. Comparable to La Quinta Inn. The room with two beds has two full-size beds, they are small for two people. When I turned on the heater, I smelled smoke from some other room, so I turned it off. The staff was very friendly and helfpul. I did not have the restaurant food, but my brother said it was ok. The rooms were clean, I liked the bathtub. No major issues. I believe the price paid for the night was fair, however, when you get to the hotel, their regular price for the same room is abour $140.00 per night so book ahead of time. I would stay there again if I had to.”
I typically stay at the Camino Real but tried this hotel down a block from it and I liked it - good business hotel but basic amenities. Maybe better toiletries will help but for the price can't complaint. Walked to the Mall but the shuttle was available. Felt safe walking - felt safe in the sorrounding of the Rio Mall.”
This was a clean, nice place to stay. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They had a gorgeous pool on premises and a beautiful balcony in our room where you can sip your coffee while looking out at the city. The neighborhood was safe and clean. There's a great taco shop about 3 blocks away that I recommend. Its called Asadero Ocotlan. I would stay here again.”
This hotel is not posh in any regard, but for something close to the border and surrounded by everything it is an excellent choice. The room was very clean, the staff (bi-lingual) were very friendly, and the grounds immaculate. Overall a comfortable stay for a quick trip.”
clean roon excellent service, and quiet night...located at a good location ,,however it should be noted street repair is going on however that is not the hotels fault..highly recommend it you ont be disappointed.”
