Holiday Inn Express Vernon

everything is what i expected with a Holiday Inn Express...there was only two things that could be improved...there was a smell in the hallway on the first floor...it was sourred onions like a really bad body odor ...it was not noticed in the room...the other thing is the toilet paper...it was like wiping with 20 grit sand paper...i found that it physically hurt to wipe with it....besides the John Wayne paper and the rancid body odor in the hallway...the hotel was very comfortable and clean and the beds and pillows were extremely fresh, inviting, and comfortable. The desk staff were very friendly and the breakfast was just ok...eggs and bacon and such...not really great but almost as good as a local fast food would serve. There was a bar that was fun across the road...and it is one block away from shopping..marshalls, home goods, radio shack, office depot, and such..and there is a superb Itallian restaurant next door...Amazing food and reasonable mid priced entrees and good calamari. No worries of having too much Chianti because you can walk back to your room. It is not the best hotel in the world but then i am extremely picky also...it was fine for the money we paid.

We've been so disappointed with the cheaper hotels in the Storrs, CT area. They are pretty bad. So this time we went with good experiences I've had with Holiday Inn Express in other cities.
