    The room was very nice for a european hotel. I got the impression that they were much more impressed with their hotel then I was. The restaurant was not open until thursday, and was quite overpriced. The spa was great looking, but we were turned away by the cost of treatments. The morning I was leaving, the concierge saw me struggling with my bags and offered no assistance. Molly Darcy's - the bar located outside the hotel was where we had most meals and was the highlight of our stay there. Overall, nice hotel, but nothing fantastic.

Location. The Muckross Park Hotel is located in Killarney National Park, Ireland, three kilometres from Killarney and one kilometre from Muckross House.

Hotel Features. Set amid the mountains and lakes of Killarney National Park, the Muckross Park Hotel occupies a renovated property dating to 1795, with a turret-shaped grey stone entranceway. At the hotel's Cloisters Spa, guests can work out in the fitness room, sooth themselves in the vitality pool and outdoor hot tub, and relax in the herbal sauna or salt grotto, or with a range of massages and beauty treatments. The hotel offers 24-hour room service and complimentary onsite parking.

The Muckross Park Hotel has a number of dining options. The intimate, stylish Blue Pool Restaurant offers classic European dishes along with an extensive wine list. The rustic GB Shaw's Restaurant with its exposed stone walls offers an international menu with speciality fish dishes. Molly Darcys is a traditional Irish pub boasting wood-beamed ceilings, wooden floors and an open fire and offering classic Irish dishes. Guests can enjoy drinks on the leather sofas in the wood-panelled Monks Bar. A complimentary full Irish breakfast is served daily.

Four meeting rooms and a 24-hour business centre are available on site.

Guestrooms. The 68 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in traditional style with richly patterned fabrics, antique furnishings and crisp Irish linen. Expert Tip. Ross Castle, located three kilometres from Muckross Park Hotel, is set on the edge of Killarney National Park and is a typical example of an Irish chieftain stronghold. Built in the late 15th century, the castle was the seat of the O'Donaghue clan and visitors can enjoy tours of its restored tower and 17th-century dwelling house.
