Location. Ruthin Castle Hotel is located in Ruthin, Wales, one mile from the town centre, 11 kilometres from Denbigh, and 20 miles from the Snowdonia National Park. It is also 23 miles from ancient Roman city of Chester.

Hotel Features. Originally built in the 13th Century, Ruthin Castle is situated in 30 acres of woods and parkland, and features a wood-panelled lobby decked out with hunting trophies, a chandelier, oil paintings, and period furniture. Multilingual staff can provide 24- hour room service, currency exchange, massage and beauty services, while other amenities include high-speed Internet connections (surcharge).

Ruthin Castle's dining options include the Library Bar, the Inner Hall, or the Cornwallis Lounge, all serving light refreshment. Lunch and dinner is served in Bertie's Dining Room, which overlooks the gardens, and offers a modern British menu. The hotel also serves a complimentary full-Welsh breakfast daily.

Business facilities include conference rooms and business services.

There are opportunities to fish within the hotel grounds, and golfing and hiking are offered nearby.

Guestrooms. There are 50 guestrooms situated over four storeys, most with views of the countryside, gardens, or estate. Decor is modern or period-style, and all offer baths or showers, direct- dial phones, Internet connections, and satellite television.

Expert Tip. Ruthin has more listed buildings than any other market town in North Wales, and whichever way you look, you'll see something of architectural interest. There are lots of timbered buildings, plus a large limestone rock on which King Arthur is said to have beheaded Huail, a rival in love.
