    The hotel was very difficult to locate. Areas of the hotel were under renovation. Severals areas were in dire need of repair in hallways. The restaurant was chilly and the Waite service was non-existence. The young lady took our order, brought water and bread, then 25 minutes later food was brought out. We were never offered any additional drinks, water, or anything else. Other couples received better service. Don't think the server cared for Americans. Food was expensive, small portions. Breakfast was sad.

Location. The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel is located in the cathedral city of Salisbury, England, overlooking the River Avon, 11 miles from Stonehenge.

Hotel Features. This two-storey hotel is centred round a 13th-century coaching inn, set in a traditional English garden. The hotel has 24-hour room service and complimentary wireless Internet access is available. A dry cleaning service is available and there is complimentary parking.

Pavilion Restaurant serves an a la carte menu with traditional English dishes in the conservatory or on the terrace, both with views over the River Avon. The historic 13th-century-style Avon Bar features wooden floors, oak beams and an open fire, and serves a bar menu all day. The intimate Oak Bar also serves bar food throughout the day. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning.

Business services are available, as are meeting and conference facilities.

Guestrooms. The 28 guestrooms have traditional or contemporary decor. All are equipped with satellite television, direct-dial phones and complimentary wireless Internet connections. Other standard amenities include coffee/tea makers and hair dryers.

Expert Tip. Built over 5,000 years ago by a society that probably worshipped the sun and the moon, Stonehenge lies 11 miles from the hotel in Salisbury. It has been estimated that its construction took 30 million hours of labour.
