    After waiting many decades, and then even several recent false starts for my visit Venice, my expectations were so high I knew secretly that I was bound to be disappointed. However, I am still reeling from the overwhelming luxury and royal treatment I received during my stay at Ca Sagredo; I felt as if I saw Venice thru the eyes of a 15th century princess. The hotel was an architectural wonder--so beautifully restored with glorious crystal and worldclass frescos. I didn't even bother visiting the Ca d'Oro next door: there were masterpieces in the public rooms right in Ca Sagredo. And the natural light from the Grand Canal made the rooms more beautiful than the Doge's Palace. The staff were as warm and accommodating as could be imagined. Breakfast was to die for, with strains of Vivaldi wafting into the tastefully restored dining rooms. I felt as if I were a time-traveler, and can't wait to return.

Location. Ca' Sagredo Hotel is located in Venice, Italy, 300 metres from the Rialto Bridge, 900 metres from St. Mark's Square, and 2.5 kilometres from Murano.

Hotel Features. The hotel is situated in a 15th-century Venetian palace, listed as a National Monument, and faces Venice's Grand Canal. Decor combines original and contemporary features. Express check-in/check-out are available at the 24-hour front desk.

Fine dining is available at the hotel's L'Alcova Restaurant, which features Venetian specialities, fine wines, and terrace seating with views of the canal. Vegetarian and children's menus are available. Drinks and light snacks are served in the intimate atmosphere of Bar L'Incontro. Room service is available during opening hours.
