Inn at Aberdeen

Set amidst the rolling hills, forests and meandering streams of this unique corner of Porter County, Ind., this old farmhouse at Timberlake Farms was once a dairy farm, once a home to thoroughbred horses, and once a comfortable hunting lodge. An 18-hole championship golf course is next door, and tennis, basketball and ponds are on site. The inn is only one hour from downtown Chicago's Gold Coast.

Today, more than 100 years after the house was originally built, the farmhouse has been carefully restored, beautifully enlarged and renamed The Inn at Aberdeen. The Inn features a grand winding staircase,a library with a bay window and fireplace, solarium with overstuffed chairs where the sun shines through the turret windows, and the old entry parlor. Guests can enjoy a stroll through the gardens, take a walk, jog or ride a bike through the beautiful Village of Aberdeen or down tranquil roads into the surrounding countryside.

The Inn offers mystery or themed weekends, a supper club and a uniquely attractive and superbly equipped Executive Retreat and Conference Center, featuring a full range of services and catering. A complimentary full gourmet breakfast is served every morning in the kitchen overlooking the gardens and aviary. A tasty choice of snacks and refreshments are available in the solarium 24 hours a day. Evening dessert is also included.

Each suite is traditionally appointed in the Queen Anne style. Eight Timberlake suites feature individual bathrooms with a shower and Jacuzzi, a fireplace and a private balcony. The Alloway suite is a four-room suite with a kitchenette. The Aberdeen suite is an elegant three-room suite with a sitting room with a cobblestone fireplace. All suites have cable televisions with VCRs. Complimentary wireless Internet access is offered in all rooms and in public areas of the property.
