I stayed in the River Lodge cabins at Sunriver, a beautiful resort near the Deschutes river. The room was great, although these rooms are close to the Lodge bar and that can be noisy at night. Very much enjoyed the resort itself which is filled with biking trails. I highly recommend floating down the Deschutes from the Sunriver marina. I ordered room service twice. Room service is very expensive - typical of a 4-5 star resort. But here, the kids who bring your food just set down the tray and leave. They did not know how to open a wine bottle; they did not take the plastic wrap off of anything; they did not attempt to set up a place to eat. I paid a mandatory 20% tip for the service, and got no service at all. Twice. On the other hand, the front desk did take care of the guest who was smoking a cigar outside my window, and handled that matter promptly. I had prepaid the entire room charge, and they had no record of that when I arrived, so take your receipt because you will need it. Overall, I do recommend the resort, but avoid room service. Be aware there are many places to eat at the resort that the resort will not tell you about. So don't feel you have to eat at the 4 places they advertise.
