Description
See more detailsLocation. One of the newest cities in the world, Brasilia was inaugurated in 1960 to replace Rio de Janeiro as Brazil's capital. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, 2.2 million inhabitants reside in Brasilia, mainly in the outer lying suburbs rather than in the famously designed city center by Brazilian architect LĂșcio Costa. Costa originally wanted to design the city in the shape of a butterfly but later settled on the airplane as an organizing form and a grand monument to Brazil's modernization. The Tryp Brasil 21 in Brasilia, Brazil, is the first hotel of the Brasil XXI Complex and so is located in the middle of the enormous airplane-city-center. Many important government buildings and the space-age Cathedral of BrasĂlia were designed by architect Niemeyer Oscar Soares, a Brazilian who was heavily influenced by revolutionary French Modernist Le Corbusier. The hotel occupies a prime location, sitting along the Eixo Monumental between two major landmarks: the TV Tower and the City Park. It is also nearby the Esplanade of Ministries. Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport is 13 kilometers away.
Hotel Features. The 260-room Tryp Brasil 21 delivers 24-hours room service, is air conditioned has a business center with three meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 120 people. A fitness center, sauna and pool allow guests to de-compress after a busy day in the Capital.

Expert Tip. Go up into the Torre De TV (TV Tower) for sweeping views of a city that is the virtual textbook example of large-scale integrated urban/city planning.
