    We were really pleased with our two night stay and extended it to one more night! A balcony facing the canal was very romantic (full moon!), the owner was very nice and assisted us with all our requests, the hired personal was very polite and helpful. The hotel is a historical building (one of the Doge's families had it for centuries) and has a sense of eternity in it. Nice restaurants and shops are close by, the Ca'd'Oro is just around the corner when we travel to Venezia again, we know where to stay :):)

    i really liked that this hotel is a little off of the main street/alley where all the tourists walk and make lots of noise. if you take the water taxi, this hotel has its own dock right in front. if you take a water bus, it's not difficult to find and it's only a short walk (5 mins?). we got a room on the 1st floor which, at first, we thought was a pretty bad deal since we didn't have any view. but when we walked around and up to the 2nd floor where all the other guest rooms are, we were relieved to have a ground floor room bec. they don't have elevators and the steps are plentiful! water dripped from the AC. we didn't report it bec. it wasn't enough to really bother us. don't know if they're even aware. our bathroom was the biggest of all the hotels we stayed (lisbon, rome and venice were the cities we visited this trip). internet connection too slow. gave up my search and used my iphone instead. though there's room for improvement, we would definitely stay here again.

Previously the residence of a nobleman and patron of the arts, the Hotel ca Vendramin di Santa Fosca is housed in a lavishly decorated, traditional canal-side building in the Santa Fosca district in Canareggio, one kilometre from the famous St. Mark's Square. The hotel's air- conditioned 11 guestrooms have classical-style decor and suites are individually decorated with original frescos, exposed beams, parquet flooring, soft-tone bedside lamps and chandeliers. All rooms also provide satellite television, minibars, safes, Internet ports and ensuite bathrooms with slippers and hair dryers.

Breakfast is served every morning in the morning room and guests have a choice of English-style or continental. Guests also enjoy drinks and beverages at the hotel's bar while there is a traditionally decorated hall where guests can relax or access the Internet for free. Fax services are available at reception and the 24-hour front desk has multilingual staff that can recommend good places to eat as well as interesting places to visit, lend assistance with transport arrangements and other bookings. The hotel itself has an interesting history and has housed many notable Venetians including its namesake, details of whom can be discovered during one's stay. The hotel is located within 200 metres of a casino and restaurants are also located within 200 metres of the hotel. Within 300 metres is the Palazzo Albrizzi and within 400 metres is the Jewish Ghetto. The Rialto Bridge is 600 metres from the hotel and the infamous St.Mark's Square is one kilometre from the hotel. Marco Polo Airport is 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the hotel.
