    I stayed at the Zeynep Sultan twice on my recent trip to Turkey (three days at the beginning of my trip and two more at the end) and I really couldn't have been more pleased. LOCATION: Totally unbeatable! It's on a surprisingly quiet side street just a block from the three must-see major attractions of Istanbul (Aya Sofya, the Blue Mosque, and the Imperial Palace). FACILITIES: The hotel has a simple yet appealing modern aesthetic, and is very well maintained. The delightful owner lived in the US for years and understands the standards that travelers expect. Rooms are on the small side (typical for Europe), but perfectly adequate. The restaurant is a very special spot, with indoor and outdoor seating and great views. SERVICE: This is where the Zeynep Sultan really shines. The owner and staff were all exceptionally warm, friendly, and extraordinarily helpful, without being at all intrusive. They were always happy to give me detailed answers to my questions, and to chat for a while when i had time. They helped me find my way around while I was in Istanbul, and they were kind enough to store my baggage for the week that I was exploring other parts of Turkey. No hassles at all, just 100% wonderful. I really couldn't have asked for better service. Price-wise, I felt it was unusually good value for the money, and I'd recommend it to others without reservations. And if you're interested in live music, be sure to ask the owner what's on, as he's an avid music buff.

    Much of tourism within walking distance.. Know how much a taxi should cost to area going before stepping in one. People are very friendly but can be overtly trying as they want you in their shops. Expect to haggle over prices. City is very clean and welcoming to tourists.
