    The location by the river is very romantic, a perfect place for an evening stroll. The newly refurnished rooms are lovely. My only gripe with the hotel was the mildew in the bathroom.

Built in 1794, the Bedford Swan Hotel is an elegant country house which has been converted into a hotel overlooking the River Ouse. This three-floor hotel features 113 guestrooms, all of which include tea and coffee-making facilities, televisions, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Other amenities include trouser presses, direct-dial phones and radios.

The River Room Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is a smart, a la carte restaurant specialising in traditional English and European cuisine, with views of the river.
