    Just a couple of minor points to a otherwise nice stay: no mini-bar (normally not a problem, but the drink machines were out of order on all but one level), could really hear our neighbors on one side - only a couple of times but it was a little disconcerting in a hotel of this range, no hair dryer (again, I just come to expect it in a hotel of this range).

The Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort in Hoover, Ala., is a smoke-free resort situated on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail on the outskirts of Birmingham. Ideal for business travelers, couples and leisure tourists, this resort is located 20 miles from the Birmingham International Airport. Within 12 miles of the resort are a variety of dining and area attractions including the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Alabama Theater, Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Civil Rights Institute.

The Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort resembles a renaissance-period Grand Manor, with modern amenities including a barber and beauty shop, business center, concierge desk, and meeting and banquet facilities. The resort has an on-site coffee shop, lobby bar and restaurant. A fitness center, full-service European spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and 18-hole golf course are also featured.
