    The Outrigger is probably one of the best resort in the Coral Coast of Fiji. They did a great job building this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and super clean. They have plenty of activities to do each day. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. The food, on the other hand, was a little disappointing.. It is very over priced and lacks quality for what it costs. We ended up eating at the next door restaurants for much less and the food was delicious. The best place to eat is at the Ebb Cafe, approximately 2 blocks from the Outrigger. Internet is also very overpriced, you can get it cheaper in the nearby hotels.

    Our plan was to stay in Fiji for 9 days, we arrived two days earlier and stayed at a resort near Nadi in Denarau. It was lovely, the rug in the room left a bit to be desired but the pool area was really nice and comfortable. It was broken up into several different areas so there was a lot of area to be by the pool and not feel like you were on top of everyone else. When we arrived at the Outrigger which is a solid hour by taxi from Nadi I was a bit disappointed. It had an amazing view of the ocean but the grounds looked like they hadn't been updated since they opened 7 years ago. I would not rate this a 5 star resort by American standards. The pool area which I was most looking forward to was nothing more then one big pool filled with Australian kids on holiday jumping around, splashing and yelling. Coming from the US, Fiji is a huge journey so you tend to not think about it being only a 4 hour flight from Sydney, thereby making it the Orlando of America. Thankfully our room was lovely, clean and comfortable with a breathtaking view so all was not lost. Aside from my hang-ups with the pool - not enough lounge chairs, not enough umberellas for shade, grass so sad it needed prozac we had a great time. We for the first time did some snorkling, which was awesome!! The gear is included in your stay, along with kayaks and boogie boards.
