The location was fantastic and the room was nice. The staff was friendly but worthless. They had little information and what they did tell us, was wrong.

For the price, compared with most hotels in London, this was a very comfortable and nice place to stay. Plus, the location was ideal, nestled just 2 blocks for Westminster Abbey in one direction and St. James's Park in another. And the food from the connected pub was excellent - except for the night they served me a burned pie. Don't believe their advertising, though, about their knowledgeable staff. I asked what I thought was a fairly simple traveler's question: what was the best way to get to Covent Garden on the Tube? The person at the desk was very sincere in wanting to help me, but she was clueless about the Tube and went online searching what amounted to driving instructions. Also, the lift broke one day and the desk staff had no idea. I walked down the five flights to exit that morning and saw the lift locked open on the ground floor. When I returned some hours later and found the lift still locked, I walked up the one flight to the reception desk to ask how long until it would be repaired. Apparently not even the person who had locked the lift at the ground floor had felt it necessary to inform the desk of the problem.
