    We've travelled to Laguna countless times but never stayed in a hotel, as we have relatives. This time we decided to treat ourselves, and what a treat it was. Attentive service, lovely rooms and grounds, and one of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a B & B. We'll be back -- and for a longer stay.

Location. The Casa Laguna Inn & Spa is located on a terraced hillside amid tropical gardens and flower-splashed patios in Laguna Beach, Calif., one-half mile from Victoria Beach. The inn is across the South Coast Highway from Villa Rockledge, a historic beachfront estate designed by Frank Miller. Laguna's Main Beach, located one-and-one-half miles away, offers volleyball and basketball courts, art exhibits, craft festivals, snorkeling, scuba diving and surfing. The Laguna Art Museum is just over two miles away.

Features. This historic home, built in 1920, features Spanish revival-style architecture set against towering palms and expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. Complimentary gourmet breakfasts are served each morning in the Mission House or on one of the inn's secluded patios. Afternoon refreshments include complimentary wine, cheese and fresh vegetables. Picnic baskets are available upon request for a fee. The inn offers a computer station with complimentary high-speed Internet access and photocopy service. Casa Laguna Inn & Spa features a palm court, bougainvillea-laced courtyard and ocean-view deck with a saltwater pool and spa tub, enhanced by fountains and rare Catalina tiles. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available to bring to the beach. The Casa Laguna Spa pampers guests with rejuvenating massages and body services, including Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone massages, reflexology and salt polish and pamper.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms and suites at the Casa Laguna Inn & Spa feature hypo-allergic feather beds or pillow-top mattresses and duvets. All accommodations feature private bathrooms with bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and showers. The guestrooms also offer mini fridges. The Deluxe Rooms and Laguna Suite offer two-person jetted tubs. Select rooms offer balconies or patios, wet bars, complimentary high-speed Internet access and fireplaces. Cable television with DVD players and CD players are provided. The inn features a collection of classic movies and CDs.
