    The Boulder Mountain Lodge was a great place. I loved, and so did the rest of the family. Granted, it is "campy" and the rooms are in the process of being renovated (the tile in the bathtub was new, but the carpet had seen all its useful life), but the atmosphere is great. The creek out front and campground atmosphere provided us with a very relaxed stay. The staff was warm and welcoming. Our kids loved the reading room area where they could pick out books and games to entertain themselves during our stay. When we return to the Boulder area, we will return, and hope to stay for more than just two nights.

    The picture on hotels.com is of the office and not the exterior of the motel rooms. When I saw the motel as I pulled in the lot, I thought about leaving to find another place to stay. Updates to the exterior would definitely improve first impressions. With some updates, the staff may be willing to share pictures of the motel with hotels.com. Once inside the room, it was actually quaint and clean. My only other disappointment was finding the last person's trash still under the sink. Hearing the creek nearby was really relaxing, and the room proved very comfortable.

Boulder Mountain Lodge has motel rooms and camping sites for Boulder visitors who wish to be "really in the mountains" but still desire the convenience of "just five minutes from downtown." The motel offers kitche enette rooms, full kitchen rooms, and suites, some with whirlpool baths, in addition to the standard guestrooms.
