Description
See more detailsLocation. Located on a tranquil, tree-lined corner just one-quarter mile from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, the Atlantic Birches Inn Bed and Breakfast resides in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The classic New England Pier offers food and fun, and the low surf makes the beach a great spot to swim. From auto and harness racing to amusement rides and arcades, there is plenty to keep visitors busy in Old Orchard Beach. Portland, Maine's largest city, is just 12 miles north and boasts a spirited nightlife, lots of shopping and an impressive array of fine restaurants. Portland's historic Old Port is especially charming with brick sidewalks, cobblestone streets, boutique shops and ferries to nearby islands.
Hotel Features. Consisting of two buildings, the 1903 Victorian Main House and the 1920's Bungalow, the inn is fronted by a meticulously maintained lawn and offers a heated in-ground pool. Both buildings have shady verandas flanked by beautiful shrubbery and perennials. A gazebo shaded by 100-year-old white birch trees makes a great spot to relax. Guests wake each morning to the enticing aroma of homemade muffins and coffee. The dining and living areas are elegant yet comfortable.
Guestrooms. All guestrooms are sunny, unique and comfortably decorated with a pleasing mixture of old and new. All rooms have private baths and air-conditioning.
Expert Tip. Two Lights State Park, located 10 miles from the inn, was named for Maine's first twin lighthouses and features 41-acres of rocky headland with picnic tables and barbeque grills.
