Avenue Inn Bed & Breakfast

Location. Nestled among the centuries-old oaks on the famed St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line, this historical mansion is situated in the Uptown/Garden District of New Orleans, La. A half-mile walk will take guests to Magazine Street, bursting with antique shops, specialty boutiques, bistros and lively nightspots. Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast is also less than three miles from the French Quarter, New Orleans Convention Center, Lafayette Cemetery and D-Day Museum.

Features. The Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast was constructed in 1891 by Thomas Sully in Queen Anne-style. The inn features original high ceilings, hardwood floors and period furnishings throughout. A New Orleans streetcar stops at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast's front door, taking guests to and from many of the major attractions of New Orleans (including the French Quarter) 24 hours a day. Guests can take advantage of the concierge assistance offered by the innkeepers, who specialize in getting hard to get tours and restaurant bookings through their local contacts. A complimentary continental breakfast is served buffet-style in the dining room or on the Creole-style veranda each morning. Guests of the inn have free parking privileges.
