    The main reason my wife and I wanted to stay here on our honeymoon was the outstanding view of Vienna from the balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony was closed during our 3 night stay due to a wedding. For some reason the evening wedding also meant that the balcony was off limit in the morning, which did not make sense to us. Also, on the evening we planned on eating at the restaurant the whole restaurant was closed due to an event, only room service was available. Service was also lacking compared at two other hotels we stayed at during our visit. There was a rude welcoming at the front desk, no bell man to assist with bags and some lack of assistance when asking for advise on getting to sites around the city. If you are drawn to the views and location, take a 20 minute trip to visit but by all means find a difference hotel to stay at.

Surrounded by the Vienna Woods, the Austria Trend Hotel Schloss Wilhelminenberg is housed in the former 18th century castle of Graf Lascy and lies eight kilometres away from the city's historic centre. The 87 guestrooms are decorated in soft neutrals with patterned fabrics and modern furnishings. All include satellite television, direct-dial phones, hair dryers, safes and minibars.

Guests can start the day with a buffet breakfast (surcharge) in the hotel's winter gardens and sample home-made pastries and Viennese coffee in the Schloss Café. In the evening, regional and international dishes are served in the main restaurant, which also has a sun terrace for al fresco dining. Guests can also relax on the hotel terraces or stroll through the hotel's vast 30 acre parkland.
