Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Garden Grove

Pros* We went to Disneyland for our honeymoon & we couldn't afford to stay anywhere expensive because of our recent wedding costs. This location had good reviews, and was within our budget, so we gave it a shot. This was our first time staying in a holiday inn express, and it was great! The hotel was in new condition, and everything looked bright and fresh. The staff was super friendly & helpful. Our room was done up in modern decor like some of the higher-end resorts i've stayed at before, and it was very clean and comfy. I loved the king size bed, I usually hate hotel beds, but it was very comfortable & supportive. I was curious if the "included breakfast" would be any good, but it turned out to be delicious! We don't eat sausage or bacon, but they had lots of yummy choices for us; cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs/cheese omelets, bagels, toast, muffins, cookies, yogurt, fruits, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa..etc. It was very convenient to just go downstairs and eat before heading out for the day! The breakfast area was clean and pretty roomy, but it was only served till 9:30 and my husband liked to sleep a little longer, so the nice hostess gave me a tray, so I could collect both our servings and take our breakfasts up to our room. This was also a nice option to avoid eating downstairs when it got filled with families and noisy kids. I also was pleased with the housekeeping quality, upon our return to the room it smelled very fresh - almost deliciously fruity, and all the linens and fluffy towels were replaced daily! Cons* In our stay there, we only had 3 things that we would recommend the hotel change; the Room needed a mini fridge & a microwave (we had nowhere to store food or cold drinks/reheat dinner leftovers), and their laundry facilities need cleaning - both of the 2 tiny washing machines they had were moldy inside and made our clothes stinky like mildew when we washed them there. I wouldn't normally write a review, but since I picked this hotel after reading through all reviews of hotels in the area, I thought I would. The price was a deal compared to others in the area, and the hotel looked nice and room was clean and comfortable. There was something close to a real breakfast, warm pastries, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy... The staff always had a nice smile and were ready and willing to be of help when I needed it. Overall everything you would hope and expect from a hotel stay, plus a cookie.
