    The hotel itself is within three blocks of the beach making the location good and not having to pay a lot of money to stay on the beach. The only real complaint I have was that the rooms facing the street can be noisy (ours was). Maybe they should install some insulation in the walls and some sound proofing at the air conditioning fed from the outside.

    I stayed here for one night in February and once before during a vacation. I love the convenience to the beaches, shopping, and restaurants. Nice pool, nice lobby. It may be a bit simple but that is all you need especially if you spend most of your time outside of the room. Only hang-up I had was to park in a garage in another building. Other than that, it was a great stay. Even if it was just for one night.

Location. The Aqua Bamboo & Spa is located two blocks from Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Honolulu Aquarium is one mile from the hotel. Diamond Head is two miles away.

Hotel Features. The hotel lobby contrasts with bright, busy Waikiki by displaying subdued fabrics in deep-chocolate hues, fresh floral bouquets and dark-toned seating areas. This Asian-themed boutique property provides complimentary continental breakfasts and offers use of a gas grill that is built into a tiled food-preparation counter. Weekly receptions feature the hotel's signature drink, the aptly named Bamboozle. A business center houses three computer stations. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in the lobby and adjacent to the outdoor pool. The Aqua Spa includes three treatment rooms, and offers massage therapies and facials. Recreational amenities include a garden with an outdoor saltwater pool, waterfall, spa tub and sauna. The surrounding sundeck provides padded lounge chairs, umbrellas and open-air gazebos enhanced with curved benches and pillows.

Guestrooms. This 12-story hotel offers 92 guestrooms with private balconies. Select accommodations provide kitchenettes or full kitchens. All rooms provide refrigerators and microwave ovens. Decor is Asian influenced and embellished with live bamboo plants. Accommodations feature flat-screen televisions and complimentary wireless Internet access. In-room safes are complimentary.

Expert Tip. Nothing is more valuable to a true surfer than the surfboard. The hotel offers a secure rack where surfers can store their boards between uses.
