    This hotel is closed to the train line, shopping and restaurants... The price was great. We had a large room with a kitchen. We love it.

    I booked Travelodge because it looked like a decent hotel at a good price for being near the touristy areas of Sydney. It lived up to expectations and I would stay there again or recommend it to a friend. The price is lower than hotels nearer the harbor, but as long as you are prepared for that, it is fine. The room was reasonably roomy, the bed was comforable, and the room/bathroom were clean and reasonably modern. The hotel neighborhood looks sketchy at first, but I had no problems and felt safe (it is next door to a police station). It is about a 5 minute walk to the "Museum" train station at Hyde Park, which will take you north to the harbor or south to the Central Station. Most of the time, I just walked up to the harbor, which is about a 15 minute walk (about 2.5 km). The hotel description said free internet, but this was not included with my room rate. So I found an internet cafe a few blocks away for cheap internet access (Liverpool/Castlereagh Sts). I did not eat in the hotel restaurant because it seemed expensive, but there are many restaurants within a few blocks, especially in the Pitt/George St. areas.
