    This hotel is very remotely located and has nothing special to offer EXCEPT a golf course (no gym, no sauna, etc). The hallway carpets are stained and there is a bathroom-like smell near the elevators. Breakfast is NOT included in Hotels.com prices (and for $20+ extra, it is not worth it). Problem is, there is nothing else anywhere near the hotel for food. The hotel restaurant/bar area appears nice, although we did not eat there. Not recommended for people planning to spend time in the city. Staff were friendly.

    The hotel is surprisingly comfortable! Great, big rooms, great services and the bar and restaurant is reasonable costed. I was told that there is a Bus stop within walking distance that would take you into Amsterdam. If you have a car rental, this is really a great deal.

Location. Located in the Dutch countryside, the Hampshire Golfhotel Waterland stands on the outskirts of the small town of Purmerend, Netherlands. This property is positioned 15 kilometres from central Amsterdam and nine kilometres from the seacoast at Volendam.

Hotel Features. The hotel's circular lobby is supported by 16 slender columns. On-site dining options include the rustic De Eysvogel that affords superb views of the golf course. The restaurant prepares hot-and-cold buffet breakfasts and traditional dinner selections such as Coq au Vin and Dutch Salad of Crispy Goat Cheese. The Clubhouse is decorated with antique golf clubs and serves drinks, burgers and pastas. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas, and complimentary network cards can be obtained at the 24-hour front desk. High-speed Internet access is available at a lobby computer. Function rooms accommodate up to 200 people. This property offers 36 holes of golf, a 9-hole practice course and a driving range. A shop offers a range of golf equipment.

Guestrooms. This property offers 97 warmly decorated guestrooms with lively color schemes and contemporary framed art prints. Small foyers feature closets with mirrored doors. Black-coated steel bedside reading lamps match floor lamps, and bijou armchairs complement circular coffee tables. Refrigerators are stocked, on request. Room amenities include cable television, coffee/tea makers and laptop-compatible safes. Wireless Internet access is complimentary, and dial-up Internet access is available in select guestrooms.

Expert Tip. Unlike surrounding clubs and resorts that offer only two 9-hole courses, this hotel offers four, allowing players a choice of 18-hole combinations.
