Description
See more detailsLocation. Originally constructed in 1880 as the private residence of writer and pacifist Stefan Zweig, the Austria Trend Hotel Rathauspark stands behind an ornate iron gate two blocks from the Rathaus in Vienna, Austria. This property is located one kilometer from St. Stephen's Cathedral.
Hotel Features. An understated entrance leads to a marble, plant-filled lobby, where the original ceiling displays classical molded-plaster scenes. Breakfast (surcharge) is served each morning in a room where walls are adorned with folk art and cabinets are lined with Viennese artifacts. A small function room accommodates events. Dial-up Internet access is available. Business amenities include fax and photocopy services. Additional property amenities include currency exchange.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 117 modern guestrooms equipped with cable television. In-room safes are provided. Rooms include minibars. Rooms are carpeted and feature cream-colored wallpaper, pale-wood desks and upholstered wooden-armed chairs. Gray-and-white tiled bathrooms contain bathtubs and adjustable-height showers. Four floors prohibit smoking.
Expert Tip. The bar at this hotel is considered a local institution, where the resident bartender has held his post for many years. As such, this establishment is a popular local haunt where tourists may learn nearly as much about past and present life in Vienna as they would attending a local seminar.
