    Our stay at the Palms was one of the most relaxing vacations ever. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but it is mostly finished and the renovations did not interrupt our stay. The pool area is well maintained and the tiki bar was a lot of fun--we enjoyed delicious drinks and lunch poolside. The staff was excellent. Everyone was polite and accomodating. We had an incident with noisy neighbors and it was taken care of quickly and competently. I would note that the location is not in South Beach, so be prepared for lots of walking (it's about 13 blocks to Lincoln Road). The beach is located right outside the back gate and the hotel has staff beachside to set up chairs and umbrellas and to deliver food and drinks. Finally, I highly recommend the spa and steam room. We enjoyed the hair and nail treatments.

Location. The Palms Hotel & Spa, located in Miami Beach, Fla., is a beachfront hotel positioned on the tranquil northern end of South Beach and the Art Deco district. Miami Beach Convention Center and Jackie Gleason Theatre are located less than two miles from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Lush tropical gardens with a large heated swimming pool are home to a variety of palms and exotic flowers and provide direct beach access. On-site beach service provides for guests’ every need with lounges, sun umbrellas, beach towels, and food & beverage service. Complimentary Tai Chi and Yoga classes are offered to guests on certain days of the week; schedules are available at the concierge desk. The hotel is home to the Palms Spa, an Aveda luxury beach spa.

Guestrooms. The Palms Hotel & Spa has 251 guestrooms in 12- and 9-story towers. Rooms offer contemporary, custom-designed wood furnishings and views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the gardens, or Miami Beach city skyline. All guestrooms include pillowtop mattresses, Egyptian cotton linens, extra pillows and premium bedding. Guestrooms also feature 32-inch plasma TVs, iPod clock radios, desks, ceiling fans, cordless phones, in-room safes, minibars, Aveda toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available.

Expert Tip. The Palms Hotel & Spa features the only cove inlet along Miami Beach. Inside the small rock jetty, the water is calm and shallow, allowing swimmers to venture further into the ocean. Food and beverages are served on the beach.
