The New York Palace

Location. The New York Palace, originally built in 1882 by railroad baron Henry Villard, is located across Madison Avenue from St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, N.Y. High-end shops line Fifth Avenue, positioned one block away. Two subway stations are located within two blocks. Radio City Music Hall stands three blocks from this historic property.

Hotel Features. At the New York Palace, the original Italian Renaissance-style Villard Mansion with an iron-gated courtyard lit by Florentine lanterns leads to a lobby with sweeping staircases, golden chandeliers, bronze doré moldings and Tiffany stained glass. Restaurants include the two Michelin Star GILT, which serves inventive Modern American cuisine. The GILT Bar is open nightly. Istana is an American-style brasserie that prepares bistro-style cuisine and offers fine wines. A staffed business center houses three computer stations and one laptop station. A total of 22,000 square feet of function space accommodates events. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee. A 7,000-square-foot fitness center contains television-mounted cardiovascular machines, weight-training equipment, Pilates balls, eucalyptus-infused steam rooms and yoga mats. The Palace Spa offers massage, facials and waxing services.

Guestrooms. The 54-story New York Palace houses 898 guestrooms and suites featuring bathrooms stocked with Aqua Di Parma toiletries. Select rooms afford views of St. Patrick's Cathedral or the New York City skyline. Beds are draped beneath 300- or 330-thread count Annaccini linens. Accommodations offer wireless Internet access for a fee. Complimentary laptop-compatible in-room safes, flat-panel televisions and MP3 adaptors are provided. Tower Rooms offer DVD players. Select rooms include minibars.
