Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 153Q for Quality
This is where I always stay in Kansas City - great service and great hotel at a reasonable price. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 153Great Location
When reserve the hotel room from Hotel.com, what you paid is only for the room. The hotel offers cocktail and breakfast for $15.00 per person in addition to then room rate.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 153Great location
Perfect location. I loved that we could walk to the bars. Still, it was down far enough on the block that we couldn't hear noise from the street when we were trying to sleep. The room was very well-decorated, and the iPod hookup was nice to have. The only things I found a little strange were (1)the bead curtain blocking off the closet, and (2)the fact that the TV worked in the evening but would not turn on when we woke up in the morning. Neither of these things were real problems, just a little odd.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 153Disappointed with Amenities
I upgraded my room to take advantage of the shuttle service offered. Don't pay extra for the shuttle. I waited with my 2 young children 1 1/2 hours outside in 42 degree weather by a bar for the van to pick us up. Should have used a cab. When I mentioned this to the desk clerk their response was "that happens" The room was fine, bed comfortable. Telephone in room did not work.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 153Read the fine print!
I booked this hotel through hotels.com. When I checked in I was told that my rate did not include breakfast, any spa services, nor the use of the hotel shuttle. I was only there one night so had no real intention of using the spa, but the need to arrange for transportation to the meeting I had to attend in the morning was a major inconvenience. I checked my booking info, and indeed the confirmation included the words, "Queen Business, room only." It would have been helpfu, though, had "room only" been explained more clearly.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 153You need to carefully chose your hotel package
We had stayed at this hotel many times in the past, however since the change to the Q Hotel and Spa, many changes have been made in their reservation packages. When we made our reservation, breakfast was included with the stay. However, after arriving, we were informed that breakfast was not included in our package. Our advise is to skip their rather expensive breakfast and go 2 blocks west of the hotel to the First Watch Restaurant for a much better breakfast.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 153Nice, clean hotel with good location
Rooms are small. Was supposed to have a queen size bed, instead got a full size. It was very noisy. Great location. Very clean. The happy hour is great fun and the omelet bar is very good as are the breakfast facilities in general. Staff was very courteous.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 153oops!
My only complaint is that the desk did not put through a wake up call the day I left. Luckily I tend to wake up at 5:30 most mornings so I didn't miss my plane.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 153Art
The hotel is located on westport road wich is very art friendly. There was an art festival going on at the time we were there and it was amazing. There was live music and artists everywhere. There is also a good virety of food in the area. Try Jerselum Cafe its amazing! It was also within walking distance of the Nelson and the plaza. Great hotel and great people.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 153Good value
I'd reserved a room with a queen bed, but what they gave us was a room with a double bed and a balcony. My husband liked the balcony, but I would have preferred a larger bed. Apparently rooms with queens don't have a balcony. Next time, I'll get my queen-size bed and hubby can go downstairs and outside to smoke!
