Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 2 of 645Needs an Overhaul
It had been 10 years since the last time I was at the Luxor. The hallway and guest room I was exposed to on this trip didn't look like any improvements or upkeep had been made to the property since the last time I was there. Admittedly, I selected the hotel because of the "deal" but I still expected a room that wasn't so dark, dreary, musty-smelling, and which had a door with a peephole where you could see who stood on the other side. To their credit, when I complained about the condition of the room and why I was leaving after being there less than 2 hours, the hotel agreed not to charge me for the second day of my reservation. I think they shouldn't be charging anyone to stay there until they renovate the rooms, but I will give them credit for agreeing to refund a portion of my prepaid reservation without any resistance.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 645Not a 4 star
Luxor is running down fast - at least the pyramid rooms. No where near a 4 star as some sites rate it.

Not even kidding when I say we had a half a mile walk from the elevator to our hotel room!! It was insane and the walk to our room was less than spectacular walls all banged up and holes...carpet coming up and room service food sitting in the halls all day gross. Our bathroom was dirty too! We will never return to the Luxor.

Some rooms are very inconvenient to get to and the decor needs updating badly.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 645It was ok
The hotel was ok, the rooms were clean. The only thing I had a problem with was some of the ridiculous rules such as not being able to take pictures inside the casino..?? I mean what is that? Craazy. Its a nice hotel, but wouldn't stay there again.

There was a constant thumping noise all noise. We had to request for clean linens because the were not clean and then the "clean set" was not either. In order for us to get drinks, we had to go to the bar, although there were several waitresses that walked around me. There was a hole in the wall. We were very upset with this stay. We really had high expectations and were easily let down within a few hours. The GREAT thingS were the BELIEVE show, and the Bartender!!!

This hotel needs major renovation. The hotel design lacks comfort and class. Felt like a motel.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 645Needs ALOT of Improvement
When I arrived at the hotel from the outside it looked spectacular but I was VERY disappointed when I walked into my room and found that the room had not been serviced by maintenance!!! There were bottle caps on the floor, beds unmade, used conditioner in the bathroom, the water was leaking out of the shower curtain and last but not least the tv was making a really loud annoying noise making it impossible to just relax and watch tv in the room. The quality of the food at the buffet was not to my satisfaction especially for the price.

To be hotel that just opened in 1993, it seems that no good maintenance have been done. Although the rooms are clean, the furniture seems very old. But, to be honest you barely stay more than 3 hours in your hotel room when you are in Las Vegas. So, it's not that bad.

The room was clean, but the a/c made a lot of noise. The room was a non-smoking but it smell like smoke. Overall it was fine but the hotel me was too dark. Nice but dark for my taste.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 645Quiet dusty & unsuitable for people w/ allergies.
I stayed there during the MSFT SharePoint conference. Pros: Accessibility, price to comfort ratio. Cons: The hotel is undergoing renovation & is quiet dusty. The rooms are clean superficially. There is a musty smell which lingers in the rooms (I changed twice) - a mixture of stale cigarette/tobacco & that of old carpeting. From a what-you-get-for-the-money perspective, it is pretty good.
