Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 14not worth it
room was small, looked delapidated, nothing like the pictures. check in was suppose to be 1:00, room wasn't ready till 1:30. WORST OF ALL, I asked for a taxi to the Gare de L'est because it was raining outside. Guy at the desk said he couldn't get one, that it was too close. I walked 15 minutes in the pouring rain and caught a bad cold. NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE THIS!

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 14Location great, rooms not so great
On the plus side the hotel was very conveniently located near the Gare du Nord and the Metro. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The (included in the room price) breakfast was a plus. When they ran out of croissants, someone was immediately despatched to the Bakery next door to buy more. On the minus side, the elevator was too small to accommodate our luggage, so we had to carry it up to our fourth floor room. The room was tiny, no tea or coffee available, and the bedsprings could be felt through the mattress. The TV light could not be switched off and shone in our faces all night. We eventually draped a towel over it. Our towels were not replaced during our 3 day stay.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 14Don't Stay at Hotel De Maubeuge
We choose this hotel because it was close to the Eurostar rail station. We passed two adult shops walking to the hotel and once there were not impressed. The man was nice enough, but the room smelled of urine and looked like something out of a bad summer camp cabin. Needless to say, we walked away from our expense of the night and actually went back to London!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 14Run the other way!
The Hotel de Maubeuge, Gare du Nord has to be about the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We asked for a family quadrupedal, but they gave us a double room and pretended not to understand when we asked to pay the double room price instead of the quadrupedal. The "view" of the Eiffel tower is technically if you hang off the balcony and look down the street you can view the very top of it. The bathroom smelled like molding cheese, which the staff tried to remedy by leaving the bathroom door open and open all the windows, which would have been a good plan, maybe, if it hadn't been raining all day. For the first two days we were there they didn't change the sheets they just dressed the bed with the dirty sheets and when we finally checked out early to go to a better hotel, they demanded that we pay the tax on the room and wouldn't give us a refund for the rest of the days we would not be staying. This was our honeymoon and they ruined the first days of it. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason, there are plenty of other hotels in the area.

You get what you pay for. Being close to Gare du Nord is the reason why we stayed at this hotel as we had an early morning flight. We stayed at a much nicer 2 star hotel earlier in the trip. The hotel was not clean and very cramped. The bathroom was SMALL (couldn't sit straight forward on the toilet)...

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 14Fine for one night
I stayed here one night. I really needed a hotel close to both Gare du Nord and Gare D'Est. This hotel definitely fit that bill and I was able to walk easily to both. The room was very quiet and I was able to sleep well. However, I would never stay here for any longer than one night. It was a very cramped room in a hotel with very outdated and garish decor. There are better options for a similar price in the area. However if you're just looking for a stop over point between trains for a night, as I was, this may work for you.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 14got what I paid for
Well, lets starts out on a good note... the hotel was extremely close to the Gare de Nord station which made access to all the site extremely easy. It was all of a 5 min was to the station. Also, all the brasserie in the area were open 24 hours. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the front desk was manned 24 hours. On the bad side....it seems that when we went to check in the reservation didn't carry over to the hotel and the lady had to manually write us in in the manual ledger. That being, I requested a room with 2 twin beds and we were only able to get a room with a double. The room was small, extremely small. I've seen dorm rooms that were bigger. The bathroom was also small. It had all the amenities (sink, toilet, shower) but was cramped. The shower was no more than a 2 foot square. You could barely bend over to soap your legs. Because the bathroom was so small everytime you showered the entire floor of the bathroom got wet. Other than that, it was a pretty good trip overall. I just wish the hotel room was bigger.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 14Okay for two, crowded for three
They threw an extra twin bed into a room with a double, so we could barely walk - and heaven forbid we need to pass by each other. We took our 9-year-old nephew to Paris. I (female) had to make him go into the bathroom or the hall when I needed to change clothes, due to the bathroom being to small. But it was clean and the staff was helpful. Okay for the price and proximity to the Gare du Nord. Walkable to the Sacre Coeur.
