Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 11Hotel needs a lot of work
The Super 8 Motel at Barefoot Landing was very discusting. The bathroom had left over hair in the tub and floor. The room had a very strong smoke smell even though they said they sprayed for it. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 11Do not stay here unless you like sleeping on a hard bed!
The bed is hard as a rock like sleeping on a stack of plywood with a flapjack for a pillow! Plus my son found 2 blood spots when he turned his pillow over! The description states waffles on the continental breakfast but no waffle maker was present. There were old makeup stains on the fabric shower curtain (inside the shower). The desk staff were very courteous but I will never stay here again. Luckily we only spent one night here and we were hardly there except from 10:30pm- 9am when we checked out. When we came back from dinner the parking lot was full and we had to park in the back left lot and it was not lit. I didn't feel safe leaving my car there but there were no other spaces. I will research hotels more thoroughly before coming to Myrtle Beach again!!

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 11Disappointed
I was not overly thrilled with the quality of the hotel, but as they say you get what you pay for. The price for the room was very good and I was prepared for a basic hotel room, not expecting the Hilton, where I stayed by the way for the following two nights for a conference. On the good side, the sheets were clean and fresh and the noise level was less than expected given that the hotel seemed to be full of workers staying there while working in the area. They were well behaved and pleasant. The young man who checked me in was very pleasant and helpful and our continental breakfast was as advertised. On the negative, my room looked as if someone had run a vacuum over the carpet for all of two minutes. The bathroom was filthy- it looked like someone had spit all over the sink and it was not cleaned. There were hairs all over the bathtub. At least the commode was clean and I did have clean towels. While the location of the hotel is nice, close to many "tourist" areas, getting in and out of the complex was seriously difficult, especially during rush hour. There is only one way in and one way out.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 11would not recommend
first of all the bed was like sleeping o a piece of plywood, room was end room right out at the road so you had all the road noise and then you have the bar right next door that plays loud music and people are yelling until all hours of the morning, the hotel staff was great with assisting us to another room but only had 2 left one was a smokers room which I am not and the other the toilet overflowed and the carpet was wet..would not stay here again

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 11Horrible!
The only reason this hotel got scores of "1" is because there is not a "0" available. For starters, the overall condition of the hotel is dismal. The room was dirty, the blankets were stained and had cigarette holes in them. Several bathroom tiles were cracked and there was a significant amount of grout missing. The uses coffee pack was still in the coffee maker. The toilet was continuously running and it was reported to the front desk at before 5:00. When we returned at 11:00 p.m., it was still running and I had to fix it myself. At 11:30 p.m., the air conditioner shut down (probably low on refrigerant and iced up) during one of the hottest weekends in Myrtle Beach. We had to run only the fan as the room heated up. We finally got the air back on for awhile about 5:30 a.m. the next morning. Definitely not worth the price! Would sleep in my car before staying here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 11Over priced
I did not recieve a good rate on this room. The price was very high considering the fact that people were walking in off the streets and getting a better rate than I did! I would have gotten a better rate if I had walked in off the street too! Booking in advance really hurt me in this situation!

Our 3rd floor room was hot and required the use of a fan to keep the room cool. The bathroom door had to be kept closed at all times due to the heat. Needless to say, whenever you entered the bathroom, it was like a sauna. There was only one SMALL elevator (holds 6 people) for the entire hotel. Room was fairly clean.
