Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 509Was a nice stay.
Hotel has a bit of nostalgic feel. No real WOW factors though. We were in town for the Chicago Marathon. Location was most important. Quiet surroundings came in a close second. Both paid premium dividends! Hotel was going through some minor renovation. No big deal. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Bellboys were great. We had a pleasant stay and would book in the future.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 509Nice
This hotel is old but in good condition and clean. Our room was very spacious and it was the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 509I would stay here again
A beautiful boutique hotel with courteous service. The room was small but comfortable for a single traveler, and the bed was great. Nice location within walking distance of many attractions. My only complaint was that I had continued problems with the room keys.

We loved our stay at the Whitehall! The hotel is a great old, well maintained building; the room was spacious and beautiful; the restaurant's service and food was excellent; the location perfect; service and staff were above expectations! We will return and definitely would recommend it!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 509GREAT LOCATION
GOOD VALUE. VERY CLEAN . SOME SORT OF RENOVATION GOING ON DURING OUR STAY. THE HALLWAY ON OUR FLOOR HAD A BAD SMELL, BUT THE ROOM AIR WAS FINE. THE BEST LOCATION! STEPS TO MICHIGAN AVENUE. THE DOOR STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

My girlfriend and I stayed for a night as we were in town for a wedding. It was great location and they did a great job of taking care of everything we needed. Fast service and with a smile, drinks heavy in both ways and that's fine by me. Had friends meet us and they said the same thing.

Close to Michigan Avenue - walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Old - historic - but well-maintained. Rooms were small but comfortable.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 509Good room for the money
Our Superior class room was small but comfortable and we slept fairly well. The hotel was undergoing renovation at the time, so there was some noise and dust, but nothing that bothersome. The location is outstanding. Our biggest complaint was the continued failure of the room entry system. We spent several minutes trying to get into our rooms because the key card making machinery used by the hotel does a poor job of programming the cards to open the door.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 509Great location, very nice older hotel, a bargain
Older hotel, well kept and comfortable, very nice staff, excellent N Michigan Ave. location. Rooms small but adequate for two people. Only problem was malfunction of heating system in the room which they couldn't fix during our three day stay. Would definitely return.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 509Wonderful experience
Our stay at the White Hall was excellent from check-in to check-out. Special stars should be given to the staff who were helpful and made wonderful suggestions for our trip. The room was very comfortable with the only drawback being the view (but sheers blocked that). Very convenient location and very quiet. We will definitely book there again our next trip to Chicago.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 509Nice Hotel - Great Location
We looked for a nicer hotel that is walking distance to our daughter's school. We knew the Whitehall is an easy 10 minute walk to Moody Bible Institute. It also conveniently located about a 5 minute walk from the red line "El" train and is close to Michigan avenue and lots of good shopping and restaurants. The Hotel itself is nice - lobby is comfortable. Our room was a bit on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. The one complaint I would have is the hotel is noisy. We could hear everything going on in the hallway outside and one evening about midnight we heard a constant clanking for about 15 minutes. Then a little before 6 am we heard a different constant clunking for a few minutes. The noisiness did not ruin the trip, but was the one negative versus the many other positives. I would stay there again. Also, a note that they do have a remodel in progress at least in the hallway, but we did not see any work crews and it did not inconvenience us, just a little messier than usual.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 509Small but Beautiful
A boutique hotel may be by definition made up of mostly small but lovely rooms. This one has top of the line bedding and a very comfortable layout but you edge between the bed and the TV armoire. The bathroom is very pleasant but not large enough for more than one person to stand in at a time. The standard Queen was best fit for a single. The location is fantastic and worth the price.
